I am trying to replace the rear wiper on my 2005 nissan murano and cant figure out how....please help!!!
You probably already figured this out, but you have to remove the wiper arm completely in order to replace the wiper blade.
The blades are an unusual size (somewhere around 14 1/2") and I believe they are only available from a Nissan dealership. They include printed instructions in the box but just in case, this is from the official Nissan service manual:
Be very careful when attempting to change the rear wiper on an 05 Murano.....after several days of freezing temperatures I attempted to change the rear wiper and the glass shattered and busted out of the rear window! I don't know if I was pulling at the wiper too hard or what, but the entire glass fell out of the back of the Murano. It certainly would have been cheaper for me to go to the dealer and let them change the wiper. A new window cost me $300!

I've been to 5 websites which cover the topic of replacing the rear wiper arm on Nissan Muranos. Very frustrating. The dealer's have an 8 part procedure but nobody seems able or willing to simply cut and paste the instructions on any of the sites.
In fact, SOME folks claim they uy the replacement arm from Nissan and it comes with those instructions. I'm just philosophically opposed to paying a dealer $24-$35 to replace one wiper blade! But, without a copy of those factory instructions, I may have to have the dealer do it.
The insanity is the arm does not flex back as nearly every other wiper balde ever designed does. so, it is impossible to raise the arm far enough to get the blade off (not enough room to twist the blade back for removal from the arm). I have absolutely NO idea why the usual design was not used.
One replacement possibility - but it requires care - is to try to pry off the blade near the middle where it is attached to the arm. Some have suggested doing this with a small jewelers screwdriver. The blade snaps into the arm via two raised buttons in a hole on either side of the blade. Close work and you have to be careful not to scratch your glass.
Hopefully, somebody here can attach the instructions from Nissan so the proper procedure is available and we have achoice to DIY or go to the dealer. It's a real shame since the car is very satisfactory in every other way.
