There is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for this problem, consult GM for more info. It simply regards the wiper module cover assembly that has been problem atic in most gm vehicles. Your best bet though would be to remove the cover and look for any signs of moisture intrusion, or broken circuts. If you find a broken circut and are handy with a solidering iron, you may be able to fix this problem. If there is any evidence of moisture, you may want to try to dry the unit out and see if that makes any difference. Normally though this problem ends in replacinjg the complete wiper module cover assembly. Here is where that item is located.

The Cover I'm referring to is the cover on the wiper motor itself, it is all one piece. There are some spelling errors on the above that make it confusing, I am trying to be more careful in later dissertation's on auto repair problems. Thanks for the thumbs up rating! Happy New Year!

My 2000 Pontiac Bonneville wipers wont shut off and the handle is on the off position. what can that be?

if you look under the hood, locate the wiper motor. on the front are 3 torx head(star) screws holding a black cover abount 4' x 4'. once you unscrew those, look inside, that is your wiper module. very common for these to act this way. replace it. the dealer usually carries this in stock.

1999 pontiac bonneville winshield wipers

Likely you don't have the blade arms adjusted properly. Also, make sure that the motor has a good ground or it will not "park" when turned off.

2001 Pontiac Bonneville SE, wipers won't go to rest postion.

the "horizontal park" mechanism is in the actual wiper motor assy.
