SOURCE: Help

I had the same problem and I found out that the battery was bad. since everything runs off the computer there wasnt enough juice to run both the car and the computer the jeep ran good after putting a new battery in it. so try this first before you spend a lot of money on a shop fix because they wont think about the battery being bad. they will want to replace everything but. hope this helps

Looses power and stalls

First of all no bleeding is necessary on a gas engine. Secondly you need to check and see if you have the correct fuel pressure. You can verify if it is a fuel problem by squirting a little carb spray into the intake a see if it wants to fire.

Suzuki esteem lack of power / hesitation

I noticed you did a lot in trying to find the problem but I noticed that you never ran the fault codes to check for where the problem was. Run the fault codes and tell us what they were.

Vehicle is started while in neutral then is engaged to first gear and this is when the vehicle die

I must assume the car is a A/T automatic transmission?
Ok this is called stalling.
the one key fact is missing, can the fast right foot , make the car
drive fast up hills. that is you prevent the stall and drive.?
lacking this fact, makes all below too long........

the 95 sidekicks cam with 2 engines.
one is TBI 8v and other is 16v MPI, the repair is totally different on these cars, due to vastly different EFI systems.

so i will answer in the generic , lacking these facts.
1: idle speed controls dead.
2: engine problems, (low compression)
3: never ever tuned up? never did the 60,000 mile service.?
4: same as #3 timing belt slipped,
5: spark parts never replaced. plugs, wires ,cap, and rotor.?
6: weak fuel pressure do to never changing the fuel filter ever.
7: clogged injectors.
8: if MPI engine, huge air leaks in the induction (from behind the MAF all the way to the intake valves.. bad news on MPI , air leaks.
aka: vacuum leaks.
just a short list. for now.
got tool;s?

93 Lumina 6cyl 3.1 engine shaking @ overdrive gear

check your camshaft and crankshaft sensors. When defective, it may cause stalls, misfires, loss of power. Also have check the engine for vacuum leaks. Hopefully this helps!!

04 Jeep starts but stalls when put into gear.

make sure your idle air control motor is working, if you give and hold gas pedal a little will it stay running in drive.

Jeep needs to crank twice to start + rich gas smells once started

That code PO455 is indicating that you have a fuel vapor leak somewhere in the system. I'd check from purge canister back taking a close look at all the vapor hose to the tank. If all that check out, purge solenoid & canister would be my next area to check. That's probably what your smelling , so it might be easier than you think to sniff out the source.

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2l V8. It starts but doesn't idle. When put in gear it stalls out. I have replaced the fuel filter and put in and additive to clean the injectors and clean out...

TRY THIS PROCEDURE:
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake
