Very odd. A Google search comes back with lots of "Duramax" hits . The code is: "Fuel System Leak Detected - Large Leak" Some fixes that I found were replacing the fuel filter, others changed the FPRV (Fuel pump return valve?) When you're pulling a trailer there is a much greater load (air resistance) even when just cruising. Empty or fully loaded, it's mass won't matter, it's the extra fuel required at every phase of your drive. If the fuel filter is getting clogged, it's possible that some sensor is showing a pressure that is beyond predetermined limits. Try the fuel filter replacement first to see if that fixes it.
YEP WHEN REPLACING PCM OR ECM.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO REPROGRAM IT.BECAUSE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR HAS TO RELEARN VARIATIONS.AND THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM PASSWORD HAS TO BE PROGRAMMED.
reprogam security key by turning key on,momentarily engage starter, leave key on for ten min(security light will go off) repeat 3 or more times, after third time attempt to start within 5 seconds of cycling key
whens the last time you changed the fuel filter? ther maybe to much water in the filter and the tank, on warmer days the fuel maybe trying to seprate in the filter, when you go to start it you maybe trying to run it on water more then diesel. add a cetien booster to the tank of fuel you have see if that helps
The 01 DuraMax trucks do not have a block heater, unless they were special ordered with one. Just turn the key to the on position a few times before you try to crank it, and hold the accelerator partially down while doing it. However, don't hold the accelerator if it starts to crank, it DOES need a minute to warm up before being revved. Also, use a diesel treatment when its cold, it helps a lot.
