200 Volvo S60 volume & channel controls stopped working.

Any suggestions on cause & how to diagnose/fix problem?

  • Anonymous Apr 10, 2009

Works only once each time I remove the fuse and reinstal it. When I go to change the volume up or down the second time it does not work. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to the Fuse Box at the end of the dash, pull the fuse for the SWM (Steering Wheel Module) re-install the fuse and the controls should work. There is software from Volvo to prevent this from happening. learn more at RepairPal.com

2001 volvo s60 has imobolizer active. Will not start, tried disconnecting battery and different keys does anyone have a suggestion on hot to reset or fix?

When you disconnect the battery, short the posative and negative cables together for 5 minutes. Then reconnect the battery and try to start it. If this doesn't work, the car will have to be scanned with Vida at a Volvo dealer or an independant shop that has Vida.

2002 Volvo S60 D5 gauges-backlights stopped working

I have the same problem with my S60. I have since found that some of the problems is caused by the accelerator pedal sending confusing signals to the ECU. I am in the process of replacing the pedal and rheostat assembly to see what improvement there is.
I recently spoke to the only technician that seems to know about this problem. When I told him about the gauges dropping and in my car the headlights come on and I cannot open the windows he immediately knew what the problem was. He asked my if I fitted a bluetooth device to the car, which I have. I fitted a bluetooth car kit some time ago. He said he had the same problem with another car and after removing the car kit the problem was solved. I have done a lot of research on this problem and you are welcome to contact me for more information at [email protected]
