How to Perform Basic Drive Cycle

Make sure the EGR ports aren't clogged with carbon. It can completely clog ports. EGR shouldn't be open at IDLE, but it will open upon accelerating.

Of you changed EGR you need to have computer reset - they don't reset themselves.

p0106 is barometric sensor code and is caused by a faulty egr boost sensor, egr boost sensor solinoid, or faulty vaccume line to either devise and last a bad pcm. check vaccume lines first then components, also there is a small filter on egr vac sol make sure its clean

If you have a mechanical EGR stuck open you may be able to use a screw driver blade placed on the metal cap of the diaphragm and lightly tap the top of the screw drive to free the EGR. This helped me pass the emissions test once and saved me a few hundred dollars.

if you are lockey to have one it is on the intake manifold two bolts or three depending on the engine and some have a tube / and eather vaccum or electric wires attached // if you don't have an egr try changing your o2 sensors ( some manufactures use the o2 sensors as the up & down stream and have removed the egr valve

clean the egr valve out with carb cleaner will work for a while but cant promise how long

look for the egr sensor and test it or replace it

se if egr is controled by vacium or electric
if it is by vacium then locate the egr solenoide and make sure it has vacium in one hose w/ engine runing if it does then replace solenoide
