I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota sport with a squeak when I hit a bump, or when I first turn. I believe its my sway bar bushings that are lose....I have no real idea on what the part is called that I need to replace or tighten? I know where it is under the front end, its a rod that is tied to my sway bar I believe. Ive been trying to find diagrams online and cant find any decent ones...Please HELP!!!!!
Contact a reputable dealer.
The sway bar bushings are under the large clamps that hold the bar to the frame. The ends of the sway bar are connected to the struts by the sway bar links. When the links wear out, they clunk--not squeak. The bushings are under the retainer in the pic below.
Included link shows a lower ball joint and sway bar link replacement. Procedures same for models from 1997 to 2004.
