on seat next to problematic window 2. Ignition key is on 3. Door
in question is opened (in case you closed it) 4. While door is open,
press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep
button pressed !! 5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while
other hand holds button as per #4. 6. Watch window operate as it
should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

This may be a temporary fix, works for few months or longer, repeat procedure when it fails again... :-)

This may be a temporary fix, works for few weeks, months, repeat again at that time.
We have the same problem, just opposite doors - the passenger slider will close to 80%, but the driver still functions fine. There must be an easier solution than new wiring harness/motor??
sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic
there is a cable of wires that lay in the track under the slider they break from normal use.. the harness it fairly easy to change.. when you open the door lok in the opening you will see the harness there in black plastic
