91 Ford Tempo - New stereo won't work ... Please HELP

I have replaced the stock radio/cassette with a new stereo and possibly mismatched the wiring (i.e. black to red, instead of red to red & black to black). Now my old radio doesn't work. Although I have re-wired it, new stereo doesn't even light up, but it can spit the CD out (doesn't even swallow it back). I think the fuse is blown ... If so, where is the fuse box on Ford Tempo? ... and what else could be wrong? Thank YOU!!!

Out of curiousity did you check your fuse? In installing one a while ago I created a short and had no power a simple fuse replacement and all was good?

The other one is if you made cuts in the wire did you make sure the right connections were made?

May seem simple and if you already checked apologies for mentioning it however, I have found sometimes that we pass the simple solutions trying to make it more complicated than what it is.

My factory stereo wont come out of mt 91 Tempo. I have the ford radio removal kit (the U shaped tools). Its completely stuck and wont budge. It doesn't even feel like there's anything holding the radio on...

hi there is a knack to doing this..when you insert the keys into either side of the stereo, make sure when you pull up..that you are also pulling outwards at the same time, this then pushes in the locks that hold the radio in...hope that helps

Stock Speakers wont work with new stereo plzzzz HELP

U have a Factory audio auxiliary amp in the truck, the radio is just a head unit with a preamp feeding a main amp, that is behind the right rear 1/4 panel trim panel in the cargo area, if your new sound unit has preamp outputs use them, other wise u must wire around the Ford factory amplifier.
