input and out put speed sensors tell the TCM and the ECM the difference between engine rpms and transmission input roms so that the correct gear ratio can be selected
A speedo sensor reads the out put shaft (drive line ) shaft and refers to road speed for speed and odometer readings and to calculate the fuel consumption rate
it is possible that you have replaced the wrong sensor
Talk with an accredited transmission specialist shop and have the problem diagnosed
Maybe the speedometer connection at the transmission might be interfering with the shift lever at the transmission. Not sure if this would apply to the 2002 Neon but on some older model cars I believe it could happen. Just a thought.
your input output speed sensors check voltage at sensor check plug see if you have voted and ground and put more than likely there's no voltage or no gtound
some of these have had problems with the dash assembly causing alot of problems with gauges and lights and speedometers.if there are no codes in the computer and weren`t any before you replaced the vss sensors then you spent money you didn`t need to.
test the alt but my best bet replaceing the cluster all neons are cold solderd and come loose causing the problem to make dash gauges to intermit work and also quit working all together
Common on those is the dash cluster connection itself, there is a plug on the back of it, that you pull off & i ended up using tweezers or needle nose pliers and just very slightly twisted or bent ends of the male spade (small) contacts on the cluster itself, one by one. re-attached everything & problem cured. If you just pull trim around the cluster, it will come off, then 3 or 4 screws and cluster will lift out of there, unplug harness, do as described & re-install. Let me know how you make out. Did it 2 or 3 times in my 95 neon & it cured it for a few years each time.
what is the question? have u had the charging system tested?
