The fuel pump is in the tank, I would check the main relay first, under the dash to the left of the steering column is a black box with a 7 pin connector. ( while under the dash and looking up it would be to the right of the steering column.) There is a Yellow/Black wire that should have 12v while cranking, if it does then check at the pump. If it doesn't have 12v replace the main relay. The fuel pump is under the rear seat, to remove the seat: between the rear seat back and seat bottom is a 10mm bolt holding the seat botton in, it is just to the right of center. There is an access cover over the pump, the cover is glued in, carefully pull up and the glue will release. Check the same Yel/Blk wire for 12v while cranking, if it does replace the pump. 9 times outof 10 it is the main relay.
First, do you have spark? Do you have fuel?
Fuel pump is not in the tank but near the engine/ on the engine.
Broken membrane?
But then whole other list of things can be wrong.
You can dismount the fuelpump and test it by moving the eccentric handle in some leverage setup.

My problem is simular to this. In the mornings, the car will crank. After sitting in the parking lot all day, sometimes it will not crank. But if I let it sit for a while after trying, then try again, sometimes it will, other times I have to let it sit till evening when the outside temp. cools down. Also, sometimes when I stop to get gas, it will not start and I have to wait 10-15 mins and try again. Lately, when it doesn't start, I have started spraying starter fluid in the air intake, then it will start. Any suggestions.
