I just bought this car to find hard start crank and crank before it starts. I checked fuel pressure and its 41 pounds, and good spark at plugs. It seems like possible ECM not sending signal to injectors. If car is driven and shut off for about half hour it won't start just cranks with a jump because battery run down from to much cranking. about ten cranks for about six seconds each. Poor starter motor will cook soon. Fuel pressure taken at test port in rail. I don't know if a fuel regulator would do this. Please help.

it sounds like the check valve in the fuel pump is letting the fuel bleed back into the tank

Remove the glove compartment or glove compartment door ( if one peice assembly). They are typically located behind the glovebox.

Disconnect the + wire Coils Take #1 Spark Plug Out Get a helper Use Compression Guage if not Available, Just put your finger over the Spark Plug Hole, have help BUMP the Starter over till You can Feel The Compression at your finger you need #1 at TOP DEAD CENTER on its Compression STROKE Fine tune it by using a STRAW in the Plug Hole to feel the PISTON Move UP To VERY TOP Dead center----------------------------------This is Tricky but don't Loose these Instructions------- If you have the OPTI_SPARK Ignition System My Books show all about it but Nothing on the Timing "MARK" as this is the step I Stoped at Above.. Coil Pack Ignition Will Have a Timing MARK On the Lower Harmonic Balancer. Point Being if Mark is NOT on the Degree Indicator It has JUMPED TIMING<< Surly on a Coil Pack Ignition System BUT

You sent me an e-mail to the 1985 corvette hard start. I don't know how to attach back to what you sent me. You had asked if if will start with either and yes it will and die. Spray again for about two seconds direct into trottle body and it started. Runs a little rough. Thanks Doug
can you tell me will it start if you shoot a little either in the air cleaner or fuel ? ..
