I have an '04 Outlander and the wires on the manual shift switch are:

Black - top
Blue - center
Red - bottom

I used small heat shrink tubing on each solder joint to provide better mechanical support and prevent future breaking.

I had the same problem. I took my 2003 outlander into the mits. dealership and they told me there was a factory recall for some sort of relay or something for the cooling fan. they fixed it no charge. hope this helps.

I dont know if you have solved this yet but check the bushings on the suspension or the arms. If one is worn or damaged it will cause the tire to bend outward or inward and cause the tires to wear uneven.

SOURCE: 2003 mitsubishi outlander sunroof will

Hi

could be a few things, firstly the fuse for the sunroof, secondly some have a small relay next to the motor near the sunroof. if the switch for the sunroof is on the roof pop it out of the trim or unscre it if it is fixed with screws, check the wiring looks right if still wont close then simply unplug the wires off the back of the switch, tel me how many wires you have and the colours, you can attach 2 toghether and this will close the sunroof if the switch is the part that has failed, Always check fuses first!

If your stuck still get back to me for more info

Regards

Dan

2003 mitsubishi outlander died at stop light. wont start. turns over and has a full tank of gas. is getting fuel to engine.

very poss it could be crank sensor ,broken wire ? timing belt? advise installing scan tool that reads live data check eng rpm on scan tool see if shows eng rpm while cranking , poss remove upper timing belt cover make sure is turning and not damaged, poss computer related problem or power to eng systems would have to check for power at fuel injs and check for ground pulse with logic probe or led test light if crank sensor ok also check for spark at plugs with special plug tester and check codes first

2003 mitsubishi outlander shifting problem

there is a wire that is taken from the battery and run in insulation around the the vehicle to ports that uses live connection. the insulation on one of the lines may be broken and it making connection with the body metal of the car, bridging the ground. this is why youa re getting shocked. the problem needs some inspection of the wiring system all around, especially from the music and igntion wires to find the broken insulaton. the shifting of the gears in the =+/- mode is probably due to transmisson lubrication and other mishaps.
