98 astro i was drving and it just quit checked getting power in the dis. coil but no fire help plz

If you pull coil wire from center of distributor cap, hold it close to metal part of engine. Have helper crank it, do you see/hear a spark jump? If so, the problem is in distributor. Make sure the rotor turns when you crank it.
Are you missing anything else? Engine cranking, do you have fuel injector pulse? If your missing both spark and fuel injector pulse, I'd have to check for rpm signal, comes from crank sensor.
I can only help with testing. You have to do the testing.

I have a 97 jeep wrangler sport I have no power to my injectors or ignition coil

Dark green wire with black tracer is primary voltage for coil and fuel injectors, goes hot with engine cranking. The voltage comes from asd relay.
Some makes and models, the computer has to see both cam and crank sensor signals or it may not ground the asd relay.
Any applicable trouble codes?

Wont start. it has injector pulse but no spark

is there power and ground to the coils?

If there is injector pulse than the crank sensor has to be good. Injector pulse and spark are both calculated off from the signal from the crank sensor.

Checking for power and ground to the coils is a good place to start. If that checks out than either there is a wiring issue in between the PCM and the coils or possible the PCM has failed.

1999 volkswagon jetta v6 cranks but wont start

I'm having a similar issue with my '97 Golf K2 with a 2.0 I checked the resistance to the crank sensor and it was almost 900ohms with the replacement one being 500 ohms. Changed it, didn't work.

Mine was running fine driving 70MPH on the highway and just shut off. Now it cranks, fuel pump runs and it seems to be getting fuel but still no spark. I have a coil/module on order and will try it tomorrow.

UPDATE

Replaced the coil. Coil sparks once when you first turn the key on, that's it. crank sensor has already been replaced yesterday.
Injectors seem to fire (I smell fuel if I crank it a while) but still no spark.
I have 12V to the coil and 12V when cranking.

I see tons of posts with this issue but no resolutions. Come on somebody has to have been here before....

UPDATE #2

I do NOT have an injector pulse or a pulsed signal to the coil. When I crank the car the oil pressure light blinks on and off (just noticed this not sure if it is relevant)

I do get a check engine light when I turn the key on and when cranking, thought this meant ECU was good?

Any other way to test the ECU?

Could the pick up in the distributor be bad? Doesn't the pick up signal the ECU to fire the coil and injectors, I thought the crank sensor was just a TDC reference point?

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L 6L Auto Trans. Turns over but wont start No spark on plugs, good compression. Just put new ignition coil, rotor cap plugs plug wires. but, checked power supply to coil...

Check for a signal at the ignition coil with a node light or a 12 volt led test light while cranking. Check for a signal at a fuel injector connector jack while cranking. If both these signals are missing. Ignition and fuel signals, then the problem may be some common point. My 've will loose both these signals if there is no crank shaft signal or position sensor. CPS is on rear of engine, on transmission bell housing. Check for connections of PCS.

Coil is not firing

This going to likely result in replacing the crank position sensor. This sends a signal to the vehicle computer to tell it when to fire/pulse the coil and injectors. I suspect if you remove one of the injector plugs and insert a circuit tester on the positive side(DO NOT USE A TEST LIGHT using a light "bulb" of any sort, they take too much power and can fry the computer)(the circuit testers use LEDs) that you will not find it pulsing while being cranked. Let me know what you find.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee No Start

I would be thinking that there is a good chance that you need to be checking out replacing the computer, if you aren't getting any communication with the proper scan tool then the computer isn't communicating with anything in the vehicle...... I would have guessed first off that the ignition control module might be bad but that is obviously part of the computer also, I would be looking in that direction.

Car has no spark or injector pulse(new ecm, crank sensor)

Check the fuse for the injectors, some vehicles have the injectors and coil running on the same circut, at the same time check the fuse for the ignition.
