To reset the 2008 Ford F-250 anti-theft system You will start the process by pressing the panic button on the key fob, then place Your key into the slot in the ignition and turn it to the on position three times. This should reset the anti-theft device so that it will now be available to start the vehicle properly.
There may be a fuelpump relay in one of the underhood fuseboxes. You can try some searches for 1988 F150 fusebox diagrams to find the location of the relay. The reset of the inertia sensor (safety switch) was a good try but if the fuel pump relay is bad, there will be nothing to reset because there will be no power. There can also be a crankshaft sensor which needs to generate a signal to tell the fuelpump to run.
This could be the Inertia switch is active. There is a reset button on it. Usually this is placed by the front floor kickpad. Since you have access to the internet, type in your vehicle and the word "inertia switch" and you might find a video about resetting your part. Also it will show you some autoparts photos of this part.
If you have a Gas engine there is a safety switch called an Inertia switch. You should be able to hear the Fuelpump prime the system for 1 or 2 seconds when the key is turned to Run position. If you do not hear the Fuelpump, the Inertia switch has a pushbutton on it for Reset. Just hold the button down for 2 seconds, then try to start the truck.
If you still do not hear the Fuelpump there is a Relay in one of the Black boxes under the hood. There is also a fuse under the dash. The Inertia switch can be behind a Kickpanel. Check your Operators Manual.
In the trunk left side is inertia switch. rap ******* side with fist, causing button to pop up on top, when this happens the fuel pump will no longer receive power. Now try to start vehicle, should attempt to start and die. Fuel system is no de pressurized. PLease be careful as there is still some pressure in system! and remember to reset inertia switch when done by pressing pop up button back to the down position.
