SOURCE: replaced the brake booster how do you adjust for

Possibly the Proportioning valve. its where the lines go after the master. it has a bleeder screw of some sort on it. The pins inside wear out and stick causing uneven pressure. Replace or rebuild it if that be the case. Also chect the master for fluid leaks at the end of the piston where it connects to the booster push rod. If its leaking rebuild or replace it.

SOURCE: rear brakes locking(until abs kicks in) with

Even if the proportioning valve is wide open the rear brakes should not lock up, this is indicative of the front piston not working on the master cylinder, if there was a problem with the abs it would throw a code so to check use two people to do this one to apply the brakes and one to tun the wheel. apply the brake gently while turning it by hand with all 4 wheels off the ground, if the wheels stop at the same time for all for wheels then you have another problem, Do this with the key on engine off in neutral. It sounds like you have a problem with the primary brake shoe the front of drum brake in rear or if disk then the disk brake. Check to see if the Emergency brake cables are not binding if the e-brake is disc the wire cable where the wheel splitter is may be frayed and is keeping the emergency brakes applied and causing this to happen. If this is not explained in a way you can understand post a reply and tell me to clarify if you don't understand what I am saying. The reason I say to do it without running is it will not use the ABS system to mess with your results this will test the mechanical area, thats where i think the problem is. If you let to much fluid drain out it is possible when you started bleeding the brakes if you did not bleed the fronts first you may have damaged the master cylinder piston seal for the disk brakes.

SOURCE: 97 4runner---brakes locking up

your rear hub seals are leaking, which leak grease/hub fluid in to the drums which will make them stick.

Brake problem I changed my brake booster master cylinder brakes an calipers an hoses on 97 chevy tahoe brake lights stay on an locks my front brakes up

Not an unusual problem and it is mostly caused by the maladjustment of the brake pedal linkage and the failure to ensure there is a clearance between the booster pushrod and the master cylinder piston.

Fleetwood problem

Pretty normal to not be able to lock the brakes without the assistance of the booster, it'll take a lot of pedal pressure without it. It's also normal for the pedal to feel harder without the booster, this goes for any car/truck with power brakes. Try it with any other car you have and you'll see.

I've worked on several old Cadis but don't recall what year they started using front disc. If it's been changed from drum to disc you'll likely need a different proportioning valve and possibly a different master to get them to work right. Talk to the seller and ask if the brake feel changed when they replaced the master and if they changed any other parts.

2000 blazer brake pedal goes to floor

You have air in the lines, you need a dealer to bleed this as it has anti lock and that requires a special tool.

I dont know how too bleed my brakes on my 89 omni any tips

You'll need a helper to help push the brake pedal. Start at the right rear, open the bleeder, have your helper push slowly and steadily down on the brake pedal. Close the bleeder. Have your helper take foot off the brake pedal. Repeat this process until either the fluid is clean/clear or there is no more air coming out of the lines. Continue this process at the left rear, then the right front, and finish at the left front. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I have a 97 jetta and when i try and bleed my brakes i start on the passenger side bleeder valve. and when i start bleeding the brakes i have pressure and the pedal goes to the floor but when i bleed the...

When bleeding you start at the rt rear to left rear to rt front to left front always checking to make sure master stays with fluid, also start by removing one bleeder at a time and make sure the hole is clean and free of dirt brake clean should flow through, do this to all 4, then have someone pump pedal 3 times and hold then open bleeder when you close bleeder tell them pump again three times, do this all around until you have a good pedal, also check for leaks after bleeding, may have bad rusted line or bad master but bleed each wheel good first.dont worry about pedal going to floor everytime, just make sure fluid flows out of all bleeders when bleeding. hope this helps.

Start from right rear, then, left rear, right front, left front. Fill master cylinder. Have helper sit in car, have helper hold brake pedal down. open bleed screw. fluid and air comes out. close screw. release brake pedal. Continue until no air comes out. Move to next wheel. Keep an eye on master cylinder fluid level after each wheel.
