If you are experiencing unresponsive driver side power seat controls and an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) airbag warning message on your 2008 Volvo S40 2.4i, it could be caused by a few different issues, such as:
Faulty seat control module: The seat control module is responsible for controlling the power seat functions. If it is faulty, the seat controls may not work and the airbag warning message may appear.
Wiring issue: A damaged or corroded wire connection can cause the seat controls to become unresponsive and the airbag warning message to appear.
Sensors issue: The seat and airbag system rely on a variety of sensors to function properly. If any of these sensors are malfunctioning, it can cause the seat controls to become unresponsive and the airbag warning message to appear.
Airbag module: The airbag module is responsible for controlling the airbags in the vehicle. If it is faulty, the airbag warning message will appear.
It's best to have a professional technician diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate course of action. Sometimes, the problem can be solved by replacing a faulty module, repairing or replacing damaged wiring or sensors, but in some cases the repair may be more complex.
It's important to note that the airbag warning light should be taken seriously and repaired as soon as possible, as it can indicate a problem with the airbag system that could affect the safety of the vehicle in case of a collision.
You need to have the system checked for what the fault code is...are you sure it's the drivers side air bag or the drivers side, side air bag(located in the seat back?)They're could be a problem with the wiring under the seat.
yeah you can use them parts from your donor car, but when you install airbag and controller it has to be resetted anyway with some fault code reader. Better change the seat as well, they are integrated in the seat I dont think that will be easy to change seat airbag, but I could be wrong
Probably for some sensor located in car seat telling computer that someone is seated there and possibly activating air bag circuit. Those bags are expensive and you do not want opening when not necessary.
hallo if your foult is driver side airbag and it is not blown out, you should check "clock spring" wires behind steering whell. if foult is driver side belt tensioner, check conector underneeth driver seat. on the end erase foult/s with diagnostic equipment. Marko
I would get online and check some of the Acura discussion boards as there particular things related to different manufacturers/models/years that can happen if you just disconnect the wiring harnesses and pull the seats. If you want to be safe, disconnect the battery before you disconnect any wiring harnesses going to the seats as the car may take a break in the connection as a problem with the airbag seat sensor and throw a check light error if you don't ( BMWs do this...ask me how I know ! )
