Where do you add the power steeering fluid to a 2006 chevy hhr?
The power steering fluid resevoir is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the fire wall. mostimes in order to fill it you have to remove the altenator to remove the fill cap to add the fluid.
Take the cover off the engine and look there

There is no place to do this. The 2006 HHR have Power/Electric Assist Stearing. The power stearing actually runs off the transmission. Dont sweat it. I wondered the same thing about my 2006 Cobalt. When I got my 2006 HHR I knew pretty much everything there was to know about the car.
What happen when the power starring indicator come on
Powder stearing indicator is on
your vehicle has electric power steering
The electric power steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the body control module (BCM), power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, EPS motor, serial data bus, and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center to perform the system functions. The PSCM, torque sensor, not the EPS motor are serviced separately from each other or from the steering column. Any EPS components diagnosed to be malfunctioning requires replacement of the steering column assembly, also known as the EPS assembly.
your vehicle does not use or need power steeering fluid . If you look up under the dash below the steering wheel you will see a electric motor on the steering shaft .
Powder stearing indicator on means DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes are stored . Do yourself a favor an take it to the dealer ,their is a recall on some of these systems .
The power stearing actually runs off the transmission ????? No it doesn't - has electric motor - transmission has nothing to do with it .
