2000 Toyota Corolla wont start Changed 02 sensor disconnected bat

I just fitted an 02 simulator to my corolla and left the batt leads off for 10 minutes then reconnected. The engine turns over but will not fire up.. it doesn't even try to fire (like when there is a slight problem such as low on gas and the car nearly starts a couple of times ect.)
The battery terminals are nice and tight. The battery is good.
There is a little red button with LED been fitted under the dash to the car at some point in its history. when you hold the red button for 4 seconds the LED comes on. When you hold the red button for 4 seconds again the LED goes off, but still the car will not start.... I tried turning the ignition lights on and pressing the button a few times and trying to start it but nothing. I tried locking and unlocking the doors a few times and the same thing happens....
I have only a normal key for the car. (Not a remote locking fob one)
Could this be an imobilizer?
Please help!!!!!!

Check your alarm. because the alarm system has a engine immobilizer which makes the engine do what you are experiencing. Take the car to the dealer and tell them what is going on and they will reset the car system.

That red LED is the Alarm, if its solid red, its fine; blinking is about to trigger I think and off means the Alarm is active and opening a door will set it off.

as to why it wont start...not a clue,
check gas, make sure its in park,
you said its turning over but not firing, perhaps its a bad sparkplug or just flooded...

SOURCE: 2000 Toyota Corolla wont start Changed 02 sensor disconnected bat

I had the same problem, i had to remove the whole alarm system to get my car to start, when you unattatch the battery cables, the alarm notices the battery drain and sets the alarm off, i have no idea how much the dealership would charge for a new remote, but im sure its pricey, i would recommend just removing the alarm system, temporarily, until you can get a new remote. Good luck and god bless

2000 corolla flooded and wont start

how high was the flooding, does the car crank, lights come on, are all fuses ok? did any blow? have you changed the air filter?

if it cranks try using WD40 or a water dispersant equivelent on your leads and distributer inside and outside the cap. then take to every electrical connection you can with it. if still no start you will need to start dis assembling the interior to see if water got to the computer.

Will an engine from a 2000 corolla work on the 1998 corolla

The wiring may have to be changed, as well as the computer, and a few sensors, to make it work properly.
