Ticking sound from just installed remanufactured A/C compressor

I just installed and charged a remanufactured A/C compresser and now its making a constant ticking noise. Its on a 2000 dodge ram. The tech who charged the system said it was a bad reman compressor (piston?) but I didnt hear the niose prior to him charging the system.

Checker said they will exchange it for another reman. However should I splurg on a new one or are remans generally pretty good?

U wouldn't hear any noise until the compressor starts working at pumping and pressurizing the refrigerant, so believe the tech he is most likely correct.

He's probably right. You wouldn't hear it before he charged the system because the clutch won't engage unless the pressure switches indicate a proper charge. Also, those things need oil. There's a special kind for a/c systems and it's different for each manufacturer. There's a sticker under the hood that tells you what kind. 2oz or so is all you need, but if it's already making noise, it's probably too late.

How much PAG oil is used in Air Conditioning Compressor?

Here is the rule, you pour all the oil out of the old compressor and measure it, then you add that much back plus about 2 ounces. The oil should be virtually clear if it is dark or black flush the AC system with denatured alcohol and compressed air.

My AC compressor is leaking. Is it possible to have that fixed, or do I need to have the whole compressor replaced? I was told this would be $800 and wondered if there was a cheaper way.

U CAN GET A REMANUFACTURED COMPRESSOR FROM YOUR LOCAL PARTS STORE FOR A 3RD OF THAT PRICE OR EVEN A GOOD MAJORITY OF JUNKYARDS WILL GIVE U A WARRANTY ON A USED ONE. JUST MAKE SURE AFTER ITS INSTALLED U GET THE SYSTEM EVACUATED BEFORE INSTALLING THE FREON

My car started ticking should i replace the rod bearings?

Not neccessarily. Have it diagnosed first. The ticking could be many different things. Bearings are one, lifters another or could be not internal engine, may be external. You also need to find out why its doing what it doing otherwise you will waste money fixing something and end up doing it again..

When I start my car it shakes a little while in park then when I put my foot on the gas pedal it makes this loud noise. The faster I try to go the louder it gets. It sort of like a ticking noise.

Sounds like you have a misfire. May be a tune up only issue. Get it serviced and diagnosed. There most likely a code stored to direct the technician

Air conditioning compressor will not kick in,

If it is above 100PSI, you are over charged. Any thing under, should be normal to low. You probably need to get it checked by a professional to make sure it has the correct charge, and the compressor is getting power when the switch is turned on.

Air Condition

it sounds like a loose compression compressor.

if the compressor is loose compression, normally it sounds noisy. then suction pressure is above normal and if you accelerate and maintains that high speed, let say 2000 rpm, the suction pressure goes down to the normal level and cools your air conditioning .

Ac compressor. is making a ticking noice

This is normal, the compressor is spun by the fan belt, and when everything equalizes the pulley stops moving. This repeats over and over again.
