Check the fuses under the hood...chances are it's one of them....there's not much left to check after that....check the fuses inside the car as well...it might be the high beam switch is bad that switches the low beams to high beams inside the car.

are you touching the bulbs with your fingers? the oil from your hands can/will cause the bulb to blow. its unlikely this is your total problem but something to keep in mind wear latex gloves

check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse

Try changing the bulbs. No. They didn't both burn out at once. You probably drove for a while with one headlight, and didn't know it.

That is great that you checked the fuses; that is one thing people usually think of last. The low beam bulb could be different from the high beam bulb and may need replacing. Go to an Advance Auto store or some such place and have them help you purchase the bulb you need.
