Crx cable clutch problem

I have a 1991 honda crx it has a cable clutch and when i step on the clutch pedal it is really hard and it only engage when it is very deep it feels really bad i know what to adjust it from the bottom of the transmittion with the cable to loosen it but that does not work it it does make it softer to step on but the tranny is not engaging if i loosen it and i did not loosen it too much whereas the tranny can not engage i think what im trying to say is if there is another thing i am missing like a pedal adjust not just the cable

i have change out a new motor i got from ebay
and still have the same problem
i think it is the pedal

my friend has the same car and its pedal feels so smooth
unlike mine, it is really smooth
is there an adjustment i can do on the pedal
    like the brake pedal adjustment?

The clutch assy. is worn out. When a clutch is new the springs on the pressure plate sit flat. When you push on the clutch the springs don't have to move far to disengage, making it easy to press on the clutch pedal. As the clutch wears the fingers of the clutch spring move out, clutch pedal effort and travel increases to the point that the clutch will not disengage anymore. Along the life of the clutch the cable can be adjusted to minimize this. You have reached the end of the adjustment, sorry for the bad news but the clutch needs to be replaced.

My 1989 Honda CRX the idle jumps when I push on the clutch what causes this

Does your transmission and clutch work perfectly fine, no noise or any problem? I can't imagine why the idle would jump from dis-engaging the clutch from the flywheel. When you do that, the transmission input shaft is no longer turning with the flywheel- it becomes stationary. If the input shaft had worn gears or a worn bearing, I suppose it could put a little load on the engine, make it work harder to maintain rpm's. So when you push the clutch in, that load from turning a worn bearing or gear disappears and your idle increases. How's that for a crazy solution?

Don't know much about crx, but I assume the computer controls idle? If it does, the ecu would have no compensation in idle speed for pushing the clutch pedal down.

Could low trans fluid make the clutch not engage

for a simple answer, yes-it has to have sufficent line pressure to engage, and low levels will dramatically affect line pressure.

Hard to Get into Gear?

Either your clutch is not fully dis-engaging or the transmission synchros are worn. Check the clutch master cylinder for level and check system for any leaks if it is a bit low.
