1996 astro van stopped running

Hi -Where is fuel pressure regulator on a 1996 chevy astro van. Van stopped running but before it was hard to start. In town would stall out .then I could start it again in 15 minutes.I had to gun it to keep it running .Could it also be the cataletic converter or engine oil leagage or misfire? I just put in a new fuel pump because it was loud and van stopped running. It ran for a hour and stopped again . Put another fuel pump in it and it ran for a few hour and quit .Thank you ahead of time Paul Lucas

Sounds like dirty gas and the fuel filter is clogged...try changing the fuel filter...some are under the car, but most are mounted against the firewall in the engine compartment.

Since it will run on starting fluid, I would guess you have improper fuel supply. Install test gauge to see what fuel pressure you have. Could be bad pump, relay, fuel filter, regulator valve.

1992 Astro Van cut off while driving one day. Put new fuel pump on and will crank with if you spray starting fluid but will not stay running. Checked fuel pressure and was told it is not getting enoug
Its either got a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pressure regulator is bad.

chk in line fuel filter for obstruction, also could be a lot of sediment in the tank clogging up the filter. Hope this helps you resolve your problem.

NO FUEL
You might check the fuel pressure regulator to make sure it is allowing fuel to reach the two throttle body injectors and not just stopping at the external ports on the TB.

If You can start the vehicle off ether only then you have a fuel issue. the pump is working and the fuel pressure regulator is too. so either the injectors are not getting an electrical signal to open and close of possibly, Your oil sending unit is defective and has shut down your fuel system (a safety).

1987 chevy astro van
could be a clogged fuel filter. How long since you changed it?
It is located bolted to the frame on the drivers side. They only cost $7.00 so I would try this.
