On my Golf 1.9TDI (2005) both top and bottom Calliper fastenings have a 7mm Allen bolt thus you will need a non standard 7mm Allen Key not 12 point

What drive socket do i need to remove front caliper on 2006 vw jetta?

caliper or most brake part bolts are between 10mm and 19mm for the wheel bolts , get a set online if haven't got tools , don't waste time and money just trying to get a particular size as many different manufacturers are used for the same part and may just get one that uses a different bolt head size

What size allen wrench do i need for the front brake calipers

For front brake pads replacement you only need usually wrench set, inclusive 7 mm allen key also. But for rear brake pads replacement you need obligatory a special caliper piston pressing tool, in order to press back rear caliper piston with parking brake automatic adjustment!!!
Instructions for front brake pads replacement.
For change front brake pads you must raise vehicle, remove wheels, extract the retaining spring of the caliper, and remove the caliper as follow:
1. Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, and do not allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose!
2. Remove top and bottom caps (on back side of the caliper) for access to guide pins, then unbolt and remove them from the brake carrier. Remove the caliper.
3. Now you must thoroughly clean the brake calipers (free of grease).
4. Remove outer brake pad from brake carrier.
5. Pull inner brake pad out of brake caliper piston.
6. Check up the brake fluid level on the reservor, and emptying if neccessary!
7. Push piston back into brake caliper housing.
8. Install inner brake pad (with expanding spring) in brake caliper piston. (Arrow marked on pad - if exist, must point in direction of brake disc rotation when vehicle is moving forward).
9. Install outer brake pad into brake carrier.
10. Bolt brake caliper housing to brake carrier using two guide pins. Tightening torque is 25 Nm.
11. Install both caps.
12. Insert retaining spring into brake caliper housing.

Important note: Depress the brake pedal firmly several times while the car is stationary so that the brake pads adjust to their normal operating positions!!!
Check brake fluid level and top up as neccessary!

Vw polo 2003 sdi front pads i would like to change them myself

if you look on the inside (engine side) of the caliper, you'll see two rubber plugs, one at either end of where the brake pad is.
Prise them out & you can then undo the long bolt underneath with a 7mm Allen key - You may be able to undo the front one & then 'swing' the pad carrier up to replace the pads - if not, just undo the second allen bolt.

What is the process for replacing bothmy front brake calipers?

Hello rcvez
Without a model and year I can only give you a general description on how to change chevy calipers.
Jack up the left front and put a stand under it, then remove the wheel. Turn the wheel all the way to the right
On the back of the caliper you'll see 2 female hex bolts(allen head) the size should be 5/16 or 3/8, use a
male hex socket or an allen wrench to remove the bolts, if you use an allen wrench you may have to give
it a couple of wacks with a hammer to loosen them up. Now use a pry bar work the top and bottom of the
caliper and walk it off the roter, set the caliper aside so not to strech the hose. Next, put the new pads in
the new caliper and bolt it up to the bracket, remove the hose from the old caliper and bolt it to the new
caliper, be sure the bolt is clean and use the new copper washer that came with the caliper. Now repeat
this on the right side, bleed the brakes and thats it. Hope this is helpful.

What size wrench to use to remove brake calliper

Hi

If we're talking front calipers then lot of Fords have allen bolts holding the calipers in place rather than conventional bolts.

There's two on each caliper, and each one is inside a deep rubber sleeve with a plastic pop out cap on them (if the caps are still there of course!), so basically, you need to pop the plastic caps out of the rubber sleeves and then find an allen (hex) key to fit the allen bolts, and then you're good to go, but you'll need a longish handle on the hex key and get some anti-sieze spray on there because the slides may put up a fight.

Very best regards

Geordie
