I had the transmission rebuilt in an 07 Saturn ion. As I was driving home I noticed at stop lights the engine seemed to idle low and "choke" a bit. Prior to having the transmission rebuilt the car never did this. Also, I noticed that the car is leaking transmission fluid onto my driveway. Could these two problems be related? I will be taking the car back to the transmission shop tomorrow but wanted to get a little info on whether the low idle could be related to the transmission work that was just performed. Please help!

This issue is caused by the egr valve being stuck open, more than likely. Just remove it and clean the plunger on it. Also clean out the two ports that are in the intake. Check out saturnfans.com for more information. I hope this helps.

if there a small leak in the tank the faster you go the more pressure there is and that pressure opens up hta hole and lets that fluid out

It should be on the drivers side and it looks like the oil dipstick. Usually the top of the handle is shaped like a " T ". Most of the time it will be yellow and say trans on it. It may be lower than the oil dipstick. Good luck.

the gas smell is from all the gas into the clylinders when it dont start,,,normal,,,,,,the no start issue is from the electrical ignition switch goes bad when it gets cold out and doesnt let the car start,,you need a new ignition switch like $40 and reprogram it to the car,i would take it to the dealer,asap because right now you are lucky that it does eventually start,one day it will not start at all so get this fixed before you get stuck
