Replacing PCM is the last, why do that. which jeep,? wrangler? GC?
ECU is not bad and is almost always (GIGO) garbage in ,nets garbage out, now and for ever....
all most all errors are
1: input errors.
2: or bad output actuators or gee the engine it self.

now lets work
2302
ever see this>? or the FSM, the FSM book is way cheaper than any knee jerk ECU swap.. ouch.
http://engine-codes.com/p2302.html
out of FSM. actual
(F342) ASD OUTPUT CIRCUIT
(K19) COIL CONTROL 1 CIRCUIT OPEN
(K19) COIL CONTROL 1 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
COIL
PCM (last ) never 1st ever....
so the coil pack is 4 pins and 3 coils, one one is hot key on.
the other 3 are 3 coils, coil 1 is bad,,
from a pure tech stand point its.
1: bad coil (open or shorted) bad wires, open or shorted or bad ECU.
we never condemn any ECU unless we do the simple lamp tests.
etc. case in point below.
here are the FSM steps, so easy to do.... (truncated, read your FSM)
1: coil 1 removed, connector.
key on is pin 2, 12v, if no fix that first. ( bad power distra. or fuse)
yes, 12v. so.
then, use a test lamp to pin 3 and ground
Pin 3 is COIL 1, !
crank car , does light flash? (any small 12v lamp works) 0.1 amps are less.
1: yes, flash PCM good, coil bad.
no?
test lamp tests continue....
2: stuck on lamp , wire is grounded out or bad PCM (pull PCM C2 conn, ? still tuck on?, yes, bad harness !
3: stuck lamp off? . this is harness wire cut or PCM bad.-
check continuity end to end on this wire. if good , bad ECU.
on a car with nice clean harnesses, no damage to conn?
its a bad coil.
the coil can in fact can be bench tested...
that to, is in the books.
(ohms tests, and make real spark) do so but do not exceed max dwell on the coil "smoke tested boom."( you need a pulse generator , or coil tester)
easy to make them .
there you go.... ECU last. for ever and ever.....

SOURCE: acceleration hesitation

Depends how long since your last tune up and mileage. I would do a normal oil change, oil filter, air filter and plugs. If she still does it, try checking for a vacuum leak. Start the vehicle and spray "lightly" carb cleaner around your vacuum lines. If you have a leak the engine will increase in idle suddenly. Replace the line or part. AS A LAST resort and pretty rare is the distibutor. They usually run about 75.00 to 110.00...hope this helps.

did you try to remove the code # with a diagnostic code retrieveing tool, this will remove the light from being on in the system, providing the computer is functioning properly, if you do not have the tool to do this with, then disconnect your positive battery cable, for about 1 minute, then reconnect it back up, and see if light is out. you will have to reset your vehicles clock, and possibly some radio functions.

2005. What are the probable causes of DTC P1616?

compass. 2005? it was introduced in 2006 but marked 2007
what engine?

2.0 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.0 L VW I4 (turbo diesel)
2.2 L OM651 I4 (turbo diesel)
2.4 L World I4 (gasoline)

P1 means factory only code (jeep)
1616
shows up for 2007 and up. only
the official message is.
P1616-5V OUTPUT REFERENCE VOLTAGE #1 LOW

the PCM sends +5vdc refr, power to many sensors.
if one shorts, the voltage drops and this DTC sets.
what we do is measure the voltage.
then pull those sensors 1 by one. and find the offending sensor.
i cant be more SAVVY then that, no engine stated, so ....
no sensors to show you.
on one gas engine
the PCM C2-pin 41 is 5v out.
the throttle body uses that.
so does cam sensor and crank Hall sensors.
or the wire to them shorting to ground.

get car seviced,
any ASE tech can fix this, he has the same drawing im reading now.

log in and read. on your engine,...

WORKING ON 2005 CHEVY COLORADO 3.5, SEVERAL CODES, P0030, P0036, P0135, P0141, ODD ALL O2 SENSOR CODES, ANY HING COMMON

Yes there is something in common . Check the fuse # 79 10amp in the underhood fuse box . For O2 sensor , heater power .
The PCM commands the heater ON or OFF to maintain a specific HO2S operating temperature range. The PCM monitors the voltage on the HO2S heater low control circuit for heater fault diagnosis. If the PCM detects that the HO2S heater low control circuit voltage is not within a specified range, DTC P0030 sets for HO2S 1, or DTC P0036 sets for HO2S 2.
So this is not in spec. an it set the other codes !
If the PCM detects that the heater current or the heater calculated resistance is not within an expected range, DTC P0135 sets for HO2S 1
If the PCM detects that the heater current or the heater calculated resistance is not within an expected range, DTC P0141 sets for HO2S 2.

2005 hyundai sonata. The check engine light is on. The rmp gauge keeps going back to zero. The car is starting to hesitate.

When a 'check engine light' (MIL=Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is turned on, there is a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) set/stored in the ECM/PCM (Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module). This code identifies which engine management system component/function experienced a malfunction. Once you pull/read this code, you may begin diagnosis.

Diagnostic Trouble Code 332 JEEP LIBERTY ? WHAT IS THIS ?

2005 Jeep will be OBD II compliant and the trouble code(s) will be 4 digits after a P,B or U. Are you sure you wrote it down right?
For example P0332 for your car is Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)

Potential causes for a P0332 DTC include (but are not limited to):

  • The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
  • There is a wiring open/short/fault in the knock sensor circuit
  • The PCM/ECM has failed
Possible Solutions
  • Verify the resistance of the knock sensor (compare it to factory specs)
  • Inspect for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
  • Check the wiring and connections leading to/from the knock sensor and PCM/ECM
  • Verify proper voltage is reaching the knock sensor (e.g. 5 volts)
  • Verify proper grounding of sensor and circuit
  • Replace the knock sensor
  • Replace the PCM/ECM
