In the great plan of things simply claiming excessive oil consumption is not enough. You think you know what you mean but how much is excessive?
Car manufacturers insist before taking any warranty action for excessive oil consumption a test must be carried out to decide whether the consumption is excessive and whether repair will be economic. Even though your car isn't under warranty the principle generally will be the same.
An oil consumption test is carried out after a few basic checks and means topping up the oil exactly and then driving 750 miles of mixed town and country driving that doesn't include any sustained high speeds or heavy congested traffic. The oil is then checked and topped up exactly and if the quantity is less than 1 litre it is considered acceptable due to any improvement being uneconomic to achieve.
How many miles is your car covering per litre?
Of course if the engine is producing smoke things are somewhat different...
I advise you suspect a blockage. The oil pressure seems excessive and excess pressure should be relieved and regulated by the oil pressure relief valve so surplus oil is directed back into the oil pan.
This is not happening so it would be reasonable to assume the oil flow is not reaching the relief valve. Further investigation of the spanner and dirty hands variety is needed.
Oil fouled spark plug is caused by excessive oil entering the combustion chamber through worn rings and pistons, excessive clearance between valve guides and stems, or worn or loose bearings. Correct oil problem and replace plugs.
Adjust valves to correct tick and inspect stems at the same time.
Add 1 quart.
Look for obvious oil leaks.
Check to see if it is burning oil.... sooty exhaust pipe.
Check PVC valve and where PVC pipe goes into manifold or air cleaner for excess oil.
Depending on age of engine and time between checks for oil level, this may not be excessive.
you need to check the fuel pressure and the pressure regulator. if these are allowing excess fuel pressure then this will happen. also if the fuel injectors are dirty it can cause excess fuel into the cylinders. this excess fuel will not be burnt and cause what is known as cylinder wash allowing the un-burnt fuel to leak into the oil pan. when you find the cause of the excess fuel repair. you need to change the oil and filter maybe more than once close together to rid the excess fuel in the oil.
You may siphon the excess oil by the engine dip stick tube after you have removed the oil dip stick, using a small plastic hose long enough to reach the oil pan and attached to an empty plastic bottle to which you have drilled a hole on the cap and sealed the hose with any material like chewing gum to prevent leakage, compress the bottle to empty the air and allow the suction to remove the excess oil . Check the oil level with the oil dip stick and continue the operation until you have reached the desired oil level. This will prevent you from removing the excess engine oil by the oil pan drain plug.
Good luck with this project.......I done this before and it works.
Several ideas. 1) When the dealer completed servicing it, did you check the oil to see if it was full? If it wasn't it would need added oil sooner. 2) .9 litre does sound excessive, but what was it using before? 3) Find a way to give the bottom side of your Toy a really good flashlight inspection to look for leaks and seepage. This should give you a clue as to what is going on. If it is dry underneath, someone needs to check the oil weekly until a pattern is established of oil usage. Be blessed.
