P1495 indicates a Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit error. The Leak Detection system is located under the hood on the driver's side inner fender. The solenoid is located under or behind the leak detection pump. This system works in conjunction with the EVAP system, and one of the most common error causes is a loose or non-airtight gas cap. Try tightening or replacing your gas cap and see if the code disappears after a normal driving cycle (about 50 miles). Good luck.

answer courtesy of engine codes .com Engine-Codes OBDII Code List P1495 Dodge
P1495 Dodge P1495 Dodge - EVAP Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit Condition 3 ' Add Comment Possible causes
- Faulty Leak Detection Pump (LDP)
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) harness is open or shorted
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) poor electrical connection
What does this mean? When is the code detected?
Malfunction is detected when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detected the pump solenoid did not change status when activated,
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors
P1495 Dodge Description
The Evaporative emissions system is design to prevent the escape of fuel vapors from the fuel system. Leaks in the system, ca allow vapors to escape into the atmosphere. The leak detection system tests for EVAP system leaks and blockage.
During the self-diagnostics, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) first checks the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) for electrical and mechanical faults. If the first checks pass, the PCM then uses the LDP to seal the vent valve and pump air into the system to pressurize it. If a leak is present, the PCM will continue pumping the LDP to replace the air that leaks out. The PCM determines the size of the leak based on how fast/long it must pump the LDP as it tries to maintain pressure in the system.

I have a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse with the stock 420a (non-turbo) engine. The check engine light turner on with two codes, p1494 and p1495. I fixed p1294 but still have no clue what p1495 is or how to fix...

I kept getting this code on my 2001 stratus it had the 3.0. The problem for me was my egr valve. I was able to clean mine with card cleaner and it worked for me. But every six months it came back and had to clean it again. Later found out I had some vacuum leaks which were causing car to run rich as cause more junk to clog egr. After fixing those the problem stopped. Good luck.

It gives me acode p1495 and check engine light stays on and also it gives me code0455 please help me

P0445= Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
P1495= Leak detection pump solenoid circuit

both of these codes are just emission codes and are nothing to really worry about if you can live with the engine light being on all the time they won't hurt engine in any way and you won't notice any change in the way the van runs
there really only two reasons to fix this
1. you can't stand engine light being on
2. you live in a state with smog laws that require routine inspections

P1495 Where is the problem???? Check engine ligth is on

Code P1495 is for the LDP solenoid circuit. (LDP-Leak Detection Pump). This is a system that seals off the evaporative system of the car and then pressurizes it with the LDP. The computer looks to see how long it takes to pressurize the system, (depending on fuel level) and then determines if the system is leaking. Emissions regulations require this to cut down on fuel vapours from escaping to the atmosphere. Since the light is on, it means the fault is still there since you replaced a part that has nothing to do with the evaporative system. You will likely have to get a dealer to diag this, unless you can get access to a shop manual and DRB scan tool. Keep in mind, there are a lot of reasons why the check engine light can be turned on. Unless you know what the code is and how to track down the fault, there is no point in replacing any parts as the odds of getting it right the first time is highly unlikely.
