Yes, but oil is not flowing threw motor as efficently as it should..replace sender, and if problem persists, motor needs overhauling/replacing

SOURCE: Car starts, drive a mile, stalls.

try haviing your alternator checked advance auto parts can check it while its on the car and the can check the battery too. if thats not it it may stall due to a loose battery connection or a loose ground strap. if it stalls and everything turns of (electrical) it may be a connection or ground strap.

SOURCE: 2000 dodge intrepid 3.2 l engine noise and oil light on

Hi!!

Check oil level, add to level if needed.

I have an 99 Intrepid also and the Oil Pressure Sensor was leaking thru it, I replaced it ($13) and my problem went away. You should take a look at yours, it is located on the passenger side, engine block almost under the exhaust pipe. Also add a bottle of Valve and Lifter Oil Additive, it will take care of the noise.

Don't forget to rate this post!! Good Luck!!

2001 intrepid first problem oil light flickers when gas is accelerated. drove on freeway accelerated gas to catch speed and had to come up once came up it cut off on me and would not start back up. just...

the flickering oil light is a common problem with the 2.7 engine. as long as the oil level is full and oil is changed regularly, and the light just flickers and doesnt stay on , shouldnt be a problem, or get the oil sending unit changed. the second problem car stallings sounds like either cam or crank position sensor. does the engine light come on. if so the code should tell you.

have you check your battery cables, the condition, if there tight? these cars have a tendancy to have the cables rot out and that will cause your troubles.

2004 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 engine, and oil light keeps coming on.

Major issues with the 2.7L motor. design flaw causes oil to hang in the heads and "cook" creating sludge. Sludge builds until the passage to the timing chain is blocked starving the chain and causing near instant failure...this is a "rattling" or Roulette wheel sound. The 2.7L is an "interference" type engine. When the chain breaks or jumps, the cams stop in position thus leaving the valves wherever they may land. The pistons keep on moving though....and kiss whatever valves happen to be open. Bye Bye Motor. Using Synthetic oil EARLY and exclusively cures the sludge issue. Replacing the timing chain and components at interval is crucial...don't wait for it to break or jump!
