Blowing white smoke possibly means steam from water, you may have an internally blown head gasket.

The flashing is telling you that the engine is mis-firing, the dealer will run a test to determine the cylinder that is mis-firing, chances are it is something simple

SOURCE: Oil light flashing & beeping

This usually indicates that the oil pressure is low, but you need to get it checked out whether it's just a pressure sensor fault or connection issue, or it actually has got low oil pressure. The last one is the most concerning, because it could be causing internal damage if there is not enough oil pressure. Hopefully with a relatively late model car it will just be a sensor issue, but I would get it checked out ASAP, and preferably not use the car in the meantime.
Hope this helps, Mark.

SOURCE: red oil light flashing, oil change no problem but

Yes it is related, don't drive it. First thing you should do is install a new oil filter even if it isn't time for an oil change.

My oil light keeps flashing and buzzing

It sounds like the oil pump stopped pumping.. that's unfortunate. Because if it did. And you took it to a shop. 9 times out of 10... they will want to rebuild the motor. And I'm sorry to say.. but the best thing to do is to get out from under that car.. because everything is TREMENDOUSLY expensive to repair.

Hi:
Does your cars check engine light come on or off at all? If you had a misfire, it would trip the check engine light. Often a misfire is caused by a bad ignition module, and not just one sparkplug, but the only way to see what your car is doing is to have it scanned to see if anything is stored in the memory. Often , auto parts stores will do this for free, and that way you might have a clue to what is going on under the hood!

I drive a vw jetta 2003 gls 1.8t. a few days ago the engine dash light started blinking. the car was hard to drive, accelerating with difficulty and shook when stopped. we took it in for repair, they...

Guys, what you are experiencing is the car built warning system. When your engine light blinks it indicates a Major Problem has occurred or is occurring in the engine. When this occurs the cars goes into a "safe," mode which means all power is cut by at least half in an effort to save the car from more major damage. You can take your VW to any large chain autoparts store (autozone, advance, etc) a lot of them are offering a free engine diagnosis. Do this if possible to see where the problems maybe coming from and ways to fix them.
