Air temperature and delivery are controlled via small actuators on the heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC) box located behind the dashboard. These actuators operate doors inside the HVAC box in order to channel air through different passages to achieve the desired result. A "blend" door actuator can channel air through the heater core, around the heater core or a mix of these two to achieve the desired temperature. A "mode" door actuator can direct airflow to the ducts that lead to the defrost vent, front vent, floor vent or a mix between. When a vehicle has dual climate control (where driver and passenger sides of the vehicle can have different air temperatures) there can be multiple of actuators of each type which can make diagnosis difficult. The first step would be to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the HVAC Control Module using an advanced level scan tool; these codes help determine the location of the issue and if it's an electronic or mechanical failure. Electronic failures would include items such as HVAC control module failure, actuator circuit failure or actuator failure. Mechanical failures would include items such as actuator failure or internal HVAC box door failure. look under dash to make sure vent door is working proper

You likely have a faulty blend door. It could be electrically, mechanically related, or even a broken door. It may be the blend door motor, or possibly the temp sensor.

the heater vacuum motor and lines needs to be checked.Also get the blend door checked.

You may have a blocked vent system.

You have to find the motor that controls the blend door and open it manually to find out which one is bad there are 3 blend doors on the HV/AC system one will be where the heater core is. The other will be between the vented air and AC? heating system then the third door will operate vents in dash and defrost condition. If you have someone operate them AC system heating system and watch the blend door motors, the one you find not moving will be the one that has the problem. They have vacuum and electrical motors, if it is a acuum motor you can move the door manually with your hand, if it's electric you will have to disconnect the rod by removing the pinch clip off of the rod.

take the dash off to see if the vents are connected to the dash. if not, the heat from the engine is blowing through the open hole
