The problem is a gear internal failure the gear who drive the speed sensor is defect the is why you don't have speed sensor reading. There is a way you can verify that remove the speed sensor drive it with a drill check the dashboard you will see.

From datsc.com:
What does this mean? OBD Code P0500refers to
Basically this means that the vehicle's speed as read by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not working properly.
Symptoms Possible sumptoms of OBD code P0500

Causes Possible causes of OBD code P0500
A code P0500 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not reading (functioning) properly There is a broken/frayed wire leading to the vehicle speed sensor The vehicle's PCM is not correctly configured for the actual tire size on the vehicle

The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly. If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure will depend on your make and model of vehicle. If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.

Toyota camry 2003,when i shift into drive,L1,L2.all works fine .i put it in reverse and the car wont move, what should i look for

Check all linkage and adjustment to insure you are really getting into reverse. Also make sure to check fluid level with trans fully warmed up and engine running and trans in PARK. Low fluid can cause loss or reverse only. If this does not help, trans shop can pill pan and check for bad solenoid or other damage.

2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
