Wont start dump fuel in carb stays running, pulled fuel line turned key fuel pump comes on and gas comes out of line. please help! 99 chevy blazer

My engine would turn for a while before starting because there was a leak in the fuel injector. Instead of replacing it you may be able to just put a regulator on it for only about 100 bucks which is significantly cheaper than replacing the fuel injector.

I Let my chevy Blazer run out of gas,nw it wont start even though the relay and fuelpump is working.

Is it electric or mechanical pump? Electric is with fuel injection. If its fuel injection, you should hear the pump run when you turn ignition switch. If u don't hear it, try starting, if no, turn off then on. It will self prime. Carburetor is with mechanical pump. I usually put few drops of gas in the carb. Start it, if no, more in carb till it stays running.

I have a 1995 chevy blazer that wont start by cranking it will start if you spray gas into intake was starting before bleeding the air out of fuel rails

sounds like your fuel pump is dead or you still have air in the system

however, even if you had air in the system, it purges itself when you try to start

therefore, a weak fuel pump cannot overcome the air block and your car won't start

however, you did not specify if the vehicle will stay running once started on carb cleaner

if the vehicle starts and stays running with the carb cleaner then you are probably dealing with a defective fuel pressure regulator

1985 Chevy Blazer 4x4 2.8L V6 - engine wont start. However, when I dumped a small amount of fuel in carb - it started briefly. Is this a fuel pump issue - if so where is it located? Or can it be something...

You should see gas squirt in the carb with the movement of the linkage....if not, bad fuel pump.

2.8L Engine The fuel pump is located on the front left side of the engine.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the fuel hoses from the pump. If necessary, tag the lines to assure proper installation.
  3. Remove the fuel pump-to-engine bolts and remove the fuel pump from the engine, then remove and discard the old gasket.
To install:
Before installing the fuel pump, it may be helpful to rotate the crankshaft so that the cam lobe is on the down stroke.
  1. Use a new gasket and RTV sealant, then install the pump to the engine.
  2. Tighten the fuel pump-to-engine bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  3. Connect the fuel hoses to the pump, as noted during removal.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for proper pump operation.

99 yukon 180,000 mi. doesn't start. cranks forever, but won't start. Should I be able to hear the fuel pump when I turn on the key?

yes you should be able to hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds once the key is turned to the on pos. check to make sure you have spark. if you do try having someone spray air intake or carb cleaner into intake manifold while you crank. If the truck starts right up for a second (or stays running as you keep spraying) Id say you have a bad fuel pump and id change the sending unit also. (First check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay) GMC and Chevy are nororiously known for having bad fuel pump/sending unit problems. I have prob changed over 60 myself.

1999 chevy blazer wont start

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec

The plug on the fuel pumps are common for being bad and burning up the pumps. But the new pump will come with a new plug.
