I have 1997 Mercedes E320 with a P1750 code and will not start, the engine turns over but will not crank.

Engine not starting (does not crank) but all dash lights working ...

the e320 has been known to have elect harness problems the insulation that was used deteriorated and wires were shorting out and or melting the whole harness ---the other is your bcm [body control module ] is damaged or gone bad but look into the harness first

P1750 Electronic gear selector module. Low control unit supply voltage too low.


Clear this fault first, as gear position sensor is not saying transmission is in P or N in order for engine to start. Check voltage at battery. Should be 12.65 if fully charged.

Low voltage causes false codes too and if too many set they will need clearing. Spilling tea coffee or soda down the shift gate can cause similar problems. Also the wiring to the transmission can become oil soaked and not pass full voltage to shift module at the connector.
It is also possible this code has nothing to do with a no start and you have another componet failure. .

may be your fuse is busted, or your connection of your battery is not fix.

You likely ruined the key, you will need the dealer to program a new key.

Nothing in the Owners Manual. Called the Dealer and ask the question and the anwser is no intertia switch in the 1997 E320

i have mercedes 94 e320 was run ok .but after engine wash
first coil no sparking ,and a the second quit too ,running only whit the third coil ,,i changed all 3 coils but runnig a same,,no sparks on those front 2

Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key to the on posotion? If not start with power problem to the PCM.
