Engine temperature (coolant) sensor and intake air temperature sensors are suspect. You need a capable OBDII scanner to see if values are nominal. Test don't guess.
If I remember correctly, there are two major positive cables connected to the positive side terminal battery. One feeds power to the starter system and the other to the vehicle electrical system. There is a thick small lead washer that is between the two cable ends that connects the two cables with the battery bolt. Some times this connection gets corroded and one cable will lose connection to the battery. The lights will work, but no starter and at time a crank no start.
Have you checked the cooling sensor?
I havent check the cooling sensor where would it be located?
Do you know how to check the coolant temp. sensor ? You don't just look at it , you hook up a scan tool that can view live sensor data . You need to see what the sensor is telling the computer PCM/ECM - engine computer . Hard start problems when cold out could be a Coolant temp sensor problem / tell engine computer the engine is warmer then it really is. So the engine computer does not gives enough fuel for a cold start ,like a choke on a carbureted engine would till warmed up. Don't know if your old enough to remember those days. Videos on youtube .
but in cold weather when I try to start it the lights will either go off right when i get the key in to the start position ? How cold are you talking about ? freezing ? The lights in the instrument cluster doing that would make me believe the ignition switch may be the problem .
The instrument cluster has 2 battery voltage feeds .One is hot at all times -IPC/HVAC BAT fuse 10amp. The other is only hot in ACCY & start - IPC/ BFC ACC fuse 10 amp -both of these fuse are located in the left hand instrument panel fuse box . Do you know where that is ?
The IPC/ BFC ACC fuse 10 amp gets battery power directly from the ignition switch . Before you start replacing parts suggest you use a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter an test electrical system when colder out to find resistance in the connections etc.... videos on youtube checking with voltage drop testing .
also suggest you learn electrical testing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO-eKuhC...

Plus get yourself a professional grade scan tool an check live engine data .

go to an auto parts store and get an electcic dipstick heater . remove your oil dipstick after parking car for the night.install electric dipstick preferrably while engine is still hot plug it in at night .this will
help keep the oil warm and also the block after car starts unplug heater remove it and install original dipstick. this is the easiest to install but there are also block heaters

You might have a defective fuel tank pressure sensor!
