Cannot find oil filter 202 alero - 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

It is just above the oil filter. it is easy to see if you pull off the right front tire

Follow the air intake hose to the throttle body at the engine. Beneath it you'll see a black top with a raised hexagonal protrusion. This is the canister that contains the oil filter. You'll need a 32mm socket to remove the top to access the filter.

THE 2.4L ENGINE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR LOCATED JUST ABOVE THE OIL FILTER.REMOVE OIL FILTER YOU WILL SEE IT.

For the 2.2 L, working from top the engine (yep - I crawled around under looking), on the oil filler cap side, look down beside the power steering pump and you'll see a black plastic cap with a fairly large hex head (1 and 1/4") for removal.The filter is a paper element unit that comes up as an assembly when you remove the back cap. I removed the air filter duct and sensor wire for ease of access. But you use a bar extension (like 10 ") connect to an adjustable wrench to loosen gently and up it all came without the usual mess and disassembly of air filter duct and sensor wire. Just different. To close, the torque is 25 Nn.

The oil filter on a 2.2 liter...if it is an ecotec engine is right there toward the front of the engine on the right hand side. It is a cartridge filter. Just unscrew the cap, pull out old filter with the cap. Make sure the gaskets that come with the filter are replaced and snap new filter inside the cap and replace.

oil filter is located on a V-6 olds alero under-car front side in between radiator and engine.., sits kinda off to the side..

there should be a black plastic drivers side of the engine i think its 1 1/4 " socket size something close to that if u look close i believe it says oil or filter on it

the filter is a element style and is located on the right front of the block. just to the side of the manifold. i think it takes a 1 1/8 socket to remove the top.
