We have a mitsubishi space wagon 1992 the horn has stopped working we've checeked the fuse and that is fine.
the horn has stopped working before and then just started working of it's own accord.
how do we get to the horn and any others ideas please.
dave
Three things to check here... First find the actual horn assembly... generally under or near the front bumper or radiator support... pull off the wire and check for power with someone depressing the horn button... if you have power there then it's your horn assembly... could just be rusted to the point of being frozen... I have fixed these by spraying WD 40 into it and tapping on it... If no power then check the horn relay... either get another one from the junkyard and plug it in or put a temporary jumper wire (12 gauge wire) in the large terminals where the relay goes and try the horn... if it blows it was the relay... if still no horn after these tests then it's the switch under the steering wheel...you might need a puller tool to remove the wheel the most likely problem in that case is a damaged horn ring (transfers juice from the button in the wheel to the horn circuit)... Hope this helps...;-)

eBayProduct Type: Sidelight. Operates: Sidelight. Further Information: These bulbs are a direct replacement for any W5W 5W (501) wedge bulb no matter what brand.
Given the age, the horn itself has probably rusted internally. Take a spare bulb and connect one side to the horn pins, the other to ground. Pressing the horn button will light the bulb if the circuit is OK. Replace the horn if required.
Sounds to me like a switch problem The master window switch should be checked. Also check the door switches to see if they are getting voltage. Could also be bad window motors. Tests need to be done. Is there power to the power seat switch?
horn relay located on the right side kick panel, you will see a row of relays,if horn relay is okay, more likely your horn control pad has a short inside causing horn button contacts to stick causing horn to keep blowing.
Your fuse is blown or the flasher relay is defective or both. Check the fuse first and replace as nexessary. Note that this vehicle has 2 flasher relays, one for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. The turn signal flasher relay is located on the driver's side, under the dash above the kick panel, mounted in the top of the fuse panel. The hazard relay is located same place on the bottom of the fuse panel so do not get them mixed up.
get this one looked by an expert quickly,as its a big expense if something breaks, may be major trans fault or major brake issue, stop driving it till you sort it out!!!
Dear Mr. bclester, you have not indicated whether you have checked your fuses. First check them and then if they are ok, check the horns themselves. Remove them individually and test them on your battery. Are they fine? Let me know so that I can advise you on what to do next. arturocruz
