Hi All , Corsa 1.4 about 1998, rough ideling , gives good petrol figures , when driving down a steep hill it will give "hunting idle" , very lumpy and cut out. Orange light on. Start , will cut our again , start a few times and get going with orange light flashing , engine going well , then it just cuts out, like you turned off the ignition. Then start and it goes fine until it sees a hill again. While driving up and down under throttle its fine but dont lift your foot off the gass. Any ideas, have done the HT leads , plugs , idle /throttle sensor, and the one against the "firewall".

SOURCE: When driving suddenly the engine cuts out.

I heave the same problem on my Corsa B 1.0 2000, engine cuts out, and whe it happens, I hear one of the relay under the right side of the dash buzzing. After a couple of minutes, starts like nothing happend.
So far I manage to find that the speed sensor is faulty, when I tap him the car stops. I order a brand new one, but I'm not sure that was the issue.
I order also a Opel Tech2 tester from ebay and it has to arrive next week, then I can see the error code.

Holden 2009 turbo diesel cruze gets hot on steep hills and when sitting idel with ac on at traffic lights

Hi Graeme This one I would suggest taking to Holden for Diagnosis. One really needs to carry out some checks on the engine, Areas to check, Thermostat, is your vehicle loosing coolant possible Egr cooler leaking internally(normally series 2 engine). are the fans switching on? as I mentioned many areas require checking. Is there any internal sludging in the engine? Possible problem with cylinder head. It really needs a qualified person to look at it and plug in a diagnostic computer to see if that gives any clues. Sorry I'm not able to help any more than that. Good luck

My Opel Corsa 1.4 (2008) has an inconsistant idling, the engine seems to be surging but does not die when idling. This is a 2008 model with ecotec engine.

idle control valve may be blocked. sits on the back of the intake carb. also lose intake top can give erratic ideling

What causes a 2008 pontiac g5 idle to bounce a lot at certain speeds mostly when driving and just holding the gas pedal down enough to keep my speed up at 50 kph or 70 kph

If it mainly happens when under load, I would change the fuel filter. While a semi clogged filter will allows enough fuel to pass when idelling or at slower speeds, it might not give consistant fuel flow when at higher speeds or under load - like climbing a hill.

I have a 1995 mercury sable its an automatic. I need to know which D should i be driving in. The frist D or the Second D.

use the first D. this is overdrive. it gives you the best fuel economy. The second D downshifts the transmission into a lower gear. this would be used when climbing a steep hill (it keeps the transmission from hunting between gears) or descending an equally steep hill as it would help slow the car without using the brakes.

95 Landcruiser Turbo warning light comes on under heavy load

If you are "lugging" the engine, you will get increased exhaust temperature (EGT), this will trigger your "turbo" light(not a good thing), ideally you should have an aftermarket "pyrometer" fitted to your car, this will show you the optimum revs etc you should be using in any given circumstance.Or revise your driving technique, ie change down gears earlier.
The turbo should be idled down after long trips or heavy towing, this allows the oil temps to stabilise and turbine speeds to stabilise, thus idle for 2-5 minutes.
