Hello I have a 1986 f-250 4x4 with a 460,when its cold it starts just fine but when you drive it for a little while and shut it down it wont start again until you let it cool down,I just replaced the starter,soleniod,cables,battery,control mod and even took it to a shop to have it fixed he said the timing was at 22 degrees so he set it at 8 and adjusted the carb it started drove it home next mourning it started drove it for about 15 min shut it off and it wouldn't start, sounds like the battery is dead but just put it in yesterday 850cca group 65 series, what could it be?

Check timing again if off replace timing chain it has stretched and is about to go out

Sounds like the fuel filter is dirty and needing to be changed. It's cheap and easy to swap out.

Did they do a fuel pressure pressure test to determine that its fuel pump? And if so what was the p.s.i.?It should be around 55 to 60 p.s.i. a few pounds under 55 p.s.i. Pump needs replaced, Your shop should have chk. this when it was there the first time. Did they by chance chg. the fuel filter, that can hinder it from starting too.

Hi there, on the mercedes the crank sensor goes bad frequently. Its between the transmission and the engine on the drivers side about 11 o'clock position. You will need a internal torx 8 to remove the small screw that holds it, once removed see if it has oil on it, if it does change the sensor and get ready to do a engine rear main seal job because its going to happen again but not too soon. Please buy a Bosch crank sensor and no aftermarket, its going to save you future headaches.

Sounds as if you are experiencing early stages of fuel pump failure. The pump motor is getting "hot" during the 25 minute drive. After you shut the car off and try to restart it,the pump is weak and not getting the fuel pressure up enough to allow for a quick start and smooth running. I would check the bleed down time on the fuel system and the pressure to see what it is before and after the 25 minute drive time.

Quick question, does the "security" light illuminate on the dash when you put your key forward and when it wont turn over? Do you have a little black chip in your key?

Electrical. wont re-start unless cold.

You probably have some corrosion on your battery terminals. Make sure they are clean and connected good and tight.

1994 Mitsubishi Galant starts but shuts off in about 5 seconds

If its a 4 cylinder model u can see a little screw to the left of where it says ECI, when u get the car to start when its cold and its idling turn that screw counter clockwise until u hear the rpms raise a little, then drive it and if it still shuts down when it gets to the normal temperature, I don't know what to say.
