To reset the engine light you need an OBDII Reader or can have it done at an auto parts store.
$39 From Harbor Freight. They have retail stores in many areas or use the following: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94168
It plugs into the OBDII socket. It is under the dash next to the driver side door.
Select 'Erase' on the Reader menu and you are done.
Alternatively, you can disconnect the battery. This should wipe the OBD memory. Unfortunately, it will also reset the clock, the radio presets, and anything else in RAM in the car. Still, cheaper than going out and buying an OBD reader. Let me know if you have any further questions.

02 isuzu trooper

Need a bit more information to go on as there is no injector pump on a 4JX1 its a rail type engine .
You can get flash codes to come up on the engine check light from the OBDII socket by connecting pin 4 to pin 6 and turning the key to ign on . the light will flash - count the flashes gonna be something like 4 then 3 and maybe some other depends on how many faults you got.

If you get none then try my tips .

My Isuzu Trooper 2004 4JX1 turbo just underwent a general engine overhaul. Its cranking but will not start. All electricals are ok. Does the PCM needed to be reset for it to start?

The ECU will be fine with a engine rebuild but the 4JX takes a bit longer to start if all the injector oil paths are empty - can be up to 5 or 6 mins of 20 second cranking bursts.
Also if you rebuilt due to diesel in the oil from bad injectors the control valve for the injector oil pressure may be faulty so it wont start.

Check Engine light goes on and off

run a trouble code test to see what part is causing the check engine light to flash. I would lay my money on an O2 sensor.
