Power window not working, motor and electric good, whats wrong?

Im having trouble getting my front passenger side window to work. meaning it won't roll my window up or down then i click the button. I've tested the wires and they all work and i've even taken the motor out, hooked it back up and tried the up and down buttons for it and the gear on the motor still turns both ways. So i have no clue why when the motor is attached and works fine, it won't turn the bigger gear inside the door itself. I figure either the motor gear and the big window gear aren't connecting or something else is stopping the gear from moving. but i can manually pull the window up and down and the large gear in the door and all the frames move. I'm just wondering why won't the gear move when the window motor is there. I can also hear the motor trying to move the small gear but not being able to inside the door. So does anyone know why the gears aren't working together? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, i figured i would go ahead and buy a new motor online (30-40$ online, 3X cheaper) but i was thinking it might be a waste if the motor i have still works. I can't see the line up the gears inside the door, so that is the main problem. I can only put the motor back in where it goes and hope the teeth lock in together. Since i can't see through the metal. If anyone knows a way to line them up, or a certain way it need to be put in do they line up, please let me know. I'd like to rule out the problem with them lining up before buying a new motor, because what if i have the same alignment problem with the new motor it would be a waste. So if anyone else has any advice on getting the gears aligned let me know. THANK YOU.

Well either the gears aunt lined up correctly or the motor old and tired. Doesn't have enough power/torque to spin gears. might just need a new motor.

Pontiac g6 2007 driver side and rear windows won't roll up but the passenger does what do I do to fix

If they go down but not up. Replace the master switch on the drivers door. 3 don't usually die at they same tie unless it is that switch.

How to fix my power locks and my window lock. only the driver can roll down the windows.

2001? last year in USA. so is this it?

what is the lock issues. unstated. lets do just windows....

fails going up and down or only up? (other shoe drops)
using a schematic and a voltmeter
the electric windows uses electric DC motors.
we can hot wire them to test them.
we can check the voltage to the motor is 12vdc, when commanded down and up.
if it works one way, say down, but not up the window can be jammed. pure mech. failures... check that by hand. inside.
for example.
there are usually these parts to window drive.

circuit breaker.
relays
switches
motors.
the path is very simple, you throw a switch and power (12v) is sent to the motor, that means a simple voltmeter can find the failure point in minutes work.
get it serviced if the VM is scary?

the manual on 2001 is free online now.
posted over 100 times, searches work btw.

chapter 8w is wiring, see it?
8v-60-1 is windows.
so.... lets look there.

so the driver is good? up and down ,
so lets do F/R passenger? dead.... im guessing... see...
all dead but driver?
so see this drawing.
got 12vdc to the front left box>? seems so.b
but it must pass through said box. to the right side box below (center)
if you look carefully the left box feeds power and ground to the right box(means switch box)
and the switches reverse polarity to the motors to go backwards.
use a volt meter. and see if you get power to this motor
in both directions. up and down,
12vdc is normal at motor. when active.
my guess is the left door switch is malfing..

1998 Rav 4 power windows.. Front Passenger window will not roll up from master or passenger side. No noise, need new motor

Each system is bad. The windows need regulators(they come with motors) the radio probably died(check fuse). And the mirror switch is bad(Since you still have power to the drivers window).

1998 olds cutlass driver side window switches dont work except for the switch that controls the passenger side front door window that works but all others dont work, would that mean need a new switch or...

Do the individual door switches work their windows? If so, it would be the driver's side door switch, the master switch, that is bad.
The fact that one window works off the driver switch means that power for the windows is at least getting to the master switch, and that the ground for all power windows is good. If the other door switches work, it is just the master switch, not a wiring problem.

My front passenger side electric window won't work

You likely have a defective window motor but other problems like wiring can cause this. I suggest you have a shop properly diagnose this before any work or parts are replaced. The window motor is part of the window lift regulator and is fairly expensive.

Motor is not turning in second direction to lower window. Either the new motor is defective or the device that reverses the electricity to the motor is defective. Regulator?

Take motor out and feed it juice - will turn. Reverse polarity and it should turn in other direction.

Have you tried replacing the master window switch? Just because the other windows work doesnt mean that switch for that window is good.

The main switch is controled by the drivers door main unit.....i had to use a forward force on my windows switch for it to work....so replaced the whole unit, you could find those on ebay cheap if local auto parts is expensive

Passenger window will not go up i think its

if the fuse was an issue then all the windows would be inop, not just one, the most common fault is the electric motor that runs the window up and down.
