There should be separate fuses for high and low beams on a Prius. If one of your headlight bulbs is bad, it could have blown the low-beam fuse. Check for blown fuses behind driver's side headlight fuse panel. If new one blows, replace headlight bulbs and try again.

On 2004-2009 Prius, driver's side headlamp bulb can be replaced by removing hold down screws and folding fuse panel upward to access rear of headlight assembly. Large round cover with 3 tabs unscrews about 1/4 turn to remove. It's really tight and held by friction of large O-ring so it'll take some muscle but it will eventually give. Be careful replacing bulbs as metal clips can be easily installed incorrectly resulting in tilted headlight beam. 3-tabs must rest on flat surfaces on mounting area before spring clip can be latched in place. 3-prong plug can be wiggles sideways/up and down to remove from bulb.

S10 1998 high beam problem

If I remember correctly, there is only one bulb on each side for the headlights. Is it possible that you actually have the highbeams set but the highbeam filament in the light is burned out so you're not actually using the highbeam?

Rf highbeam doesnt work, after new bulb install 02 monteSS

Check for 12VDC at the connector with your high beams on. Could be the wiring or the connector and no they run on the same fuse.

Low beam does not light up

If your highbeams work theres a strong possibility that BOTH your headlight bulbs the low beam filament is burned out, if the highbeams dont work either check all related wiring and fuses for the headlights also the headlight switch on your steering column....

My headlight-high beam does not work . its just that the highbeam does not come on

Probably the highbeam switch itself but check to see if there is a seperate fuse for the highbeams and if it's blown figure out why

Headlights go out

If your Highbeam Switch is on your streering colum (turn signal lever) Thats where I would start too look! It could be the wires to the highbeam switch. I had that happen on my ford. But if the highbeam switch is on the floor, check for a bad circut connection and if that checks ok it might be your main headlight switch! Even though you may not loose your highbeams, your main headlight power still runs through that highbeam switch, and being on the colum thats why the would start to function when you move the shifter.

Highbeam headlights work but no low beam, it is not the switch........?

Check voltage at the circuit box and test the high/low dimmer switch. Corrosion on a ground wire could also be the problem.
