Upper hose. Left side front near cyl 1 intake runner

  • ZZZoom Apr 29, 2009

I'm chrysler tech with more than 20 years of experience. You stated that I was wrong where thermostat was located. Here the locations on 2.0L-2-4L-2.4L Turbo. Look for the radiator cap, just below is your thermostat. Again the stat housing it's located on right front of the cylinder head,in between the timing belt cover and the intake manfold, just the alternator. Now if it a 2.7L V-6 it's on the right front attach to the cylinder block. Below the exhaust manifold and next to the AC compressor.

My last posting I stated location as right front , it's left front when standing in front of the vehicle.

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Stratus Coupe SE 4 cyl 2.0 L. Is the

The thermostat is located at the upper radiator hose end of the engine. The hose will connect to a housing that will have to be removed in order to change the thermostat.
While you have the thermostat housing removed, make sure you flush the old coolant out and replace with new.
Good luck.

The thermostat is found at the end of the top radiator hose . Find the top radiator hose and follow it to the engine .There you will find a thermostat housing with the end of the hose attached . There will be 2 bolts holding down the housing to the engine. Undo the bolts and pull the housing off and the thermostat will be there.

The thermostat on this car is located on the passenger side lower Engine block. Follow the lower radiator hose and it will lead you right to it. The Wheel and splash guarding need to be removed as well as the Alternator to gain access to the housing bolts. It about a 3 hour job to replace thermostat.
