2000 Dodge Ram with the 5.9L engine. It is making a "chirping" or intermittent "squeaking" noise... not at an idle but whenever I give any gas. Thought it was the serpentine belt- replaced it and it went away for about a week and then came back. Since hen I have replaced the Idler pulley, the tensioner pulley and the Alternator. It sounds like it is coming form the front top passenger side of the engine.

SOURCE: 93 dodge spirit engine noise

Remove the drive belts, then spin each pulley by hand. You should find one that feels wobbly or rough. This is the component that is most likely causing your chirp. Usually it is either the water pump or an idler pulley. DO NOT run the engine with the belts removed- the engine will overheated and severely damaged!

SOURCE: Can a alternator PULLEY make a chirping noise?

It's possible that the alternator is making the chirp noise (bearing) but I would try this first. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle and open the hood and take a spray can of WD40 and shoot a short burst onto the bottom side of the belt and pulley. Dont spray allot as this will cause the belt to slip. The WD40 is to lube the pulley grooves and belt a slight bit. Hope this works!

take a long pole as from a push broom and use the pole as a stethascope. place the pole to the power steering pump at a safe aera and place your ear to the other end of this pole.you will hear the churning of the bearing as the engine is running. do this to every part that runs off the belt. you will notice a big difference when you listen to all bearings. if all sound good as a normal churning noise you have a glaze of dried oil on your pulleys making the belt to sqeak

2017 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7L valve lifters squeeking

That doesn't seem possible as the whole area is continually pumped with engine oil. The most like cause of 'squeaking', is the serpentine belt or the water pump.

Chirping noises in the link as well as 'tick'.

Is it squeaking noise, Loud rubbing noise? Brake problems? Clanging noise is bad engine problem. Was oil that low that they needed to add it. Have you checked it again since that? Do so immediately, If low, take it back NOW.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT. We just had the oil changed and now it makes an intermittent chirping noise when underway. It did this once before after an oil change, but the noise eventually went away. ...

Odds are it could be your engine belts slipping. If it is only intermittent then it is really nothing to worry about, but it is slightly annoying. Make sure your belts have enough tension, if not tighten them. If so, you may pick up a can of belt dressing at an auto parts store an follow the directions on it. Basically you spray it on the belt to quiet the chirp.
