SOURCE: how to do parking brake adjustment 2002 silverado?

Every thing not been screwed with by a misguilded mechanical repair. The rear brakes are damaged or worn out. Inspection is first as the brakes even to inspect them may be an ordeal. The brakes shoes (whats left of them may be dug into the drums deeply as the shoes failed as the vehical was driven with the E brake on or the cablesw stuck after you thought that you turned them off but they were slill on some aqnd ate the rear brakes up. Does it grind with everything quite and pull up to a stop? good brakes you can't haer them at all( exception are some hight performance brakes as I don't recommend them cause you can't tell when something goes wrong). The rear brakes that are OK and the cables aren't stuck and the auto adjusters are freed uo ( the auto adjuster whell will turn freely and a whole lot of threads aren't showing on the adjuster. Brocken parts are just that change all brocken parts and change any thing one one side as you change them on the other as you can get into a accident advoidance manover and lose the battle.!? For what $50. Any body work costs more than that step forward (deep do-do) Cheak all brakes if your not used to doing this at least have someone look on the been involved with braqke repair before if not have a pro do it or find one that'll show you its not a traqil and error job

SOURCE: 2005 silverado 2500 hd. brakes.

I would get your wheel sensors looked at. (Most vehicles have them incorporated into the wheel bearing for the front) If you are getting a false reading at a wheel, your ABS will engauge.

Adjusting the parking brake on a 2005 saturn reley

The first step ALWAYS to adjust the REAR BRAKE SHOES. The parking brake should not go "out of adjustment" UNLESS the rear brake shoes are:

1. Worn
2. Have recently been replaced and not set correctly
3. Are out of adjustment due to wear.

Turning the adjustment nut (unlike what Autozone seems to imply) is the LAST thing you should do AFTER all other possibilities have been eliminated.

Adjusting the rear brakes can often be accomplished easily in an empty parking lot. Simply accelerate in REVERSE to about 5~10 MPH and stomp on the brake pedal. Repeat this 3~5 times. You will often discover afterward that your forward braking performance has suddenly improved and that Parking brake is now miraculously "back in adjustment."

Between 50 and 60 mph there is a loud shudder type of noise and vibration from below my gas pedal..not sure what is cousing this at this speed..my truck is a 2005 Chevy silverado 4x4 2500 i put it in...

This sounds like the front drive shaft that may have worn u joints. Put the vehicle in park, set the brake and proceed to shake the front drive shaft up and down to inspect for wear. Let me know what you find.

How do i adjust the rear parking brake on a 2004 chevy silverado 2500 hd 4x4

on the 04 chevy silverado theirs cable equilizers that stable your cables of your parking brakes check to see if those arent loose or damaged in anyway if so replace if not remove the rear wheels and use a brake spoon to spin the adjuster nut on the o4 chevy their is not slots in the sides of the brake drum or the dust shield so it is a hastle trying to find if your on the adjuster or not but once you tinker with it for a while you will get the hang of it

I need to adjust e brake to pass safety inspection on 2003 silverado 2500 hd

The adjustment is about 2/3 of the way down the body, drivers side, by the frame. the cable is one down to a strap that turns to two, there is a bolt that goes through the strap with a nut on it . that is the spot that you adjust the e-brake at. make sure you lube it up before you try to adjust it. tighten a little at a time.
