you need a 4 digit code to put in the radio to make it work again. should be with the paper work of the car if not you may be able to get the code from toyota but it may cost a bit. would first remove the radio as some times the code has been written on the radio some were if it has been removed before.
I believe the only possible way is to use a Toyota scantool (techstream). Try clearing the code and see what happens, you might have to take it to a dealer for a zero point calibration.
I also bought a used 2006 RAV4 Sport (in 2008) and I am really happy with it. What you need to look for is for a clunk, pop or knock type noise when you are turning the steering wheel left of right. I noticed it when I test drove it. There is a service bulletin ST001-08 not a Recall. The dealer would have fixed it under the 36000 warranty but I don't know if it will be fixed after that. The 2006 RAV4 has no recall problems for the accelerator.
Toyota paint codes are can usually be found either under the hood or on the passenger/drivers side door jamb. Most Toyota paint codes are 3 digits long.
If you can't find your color code on the car your local Toyota dealership (parts department) will be able to tell you your code from your registration or chasis number... Good luck..i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.
This is a quad driver fault. something that the computer is trying to switch on or off has been left unplugged after all your work. I would look for a solenoid , valve, or transmission connector that is not hooked up or loose.
