It could be many things making you engine light come on. I would suggest taking it to auto zone or advance auto if you have one in your area they will check your trouble codes for free . With out knowing what trouble code is making your engine light come on I can not tell you witch part is bad.

SOURCE: 2002 suzuki grand vitara brake warning goes on and off

Do you have a brake fluid accumulator(ABS)? If yes, the pistons/pulsing assembly are worn, and may need to be replaced.

If not, you may have a vacuum leak in the power booster (located on the firewall). Check all hose and clamps for a tight fit/cracks,etc. Vacuum leaks cause intermittent brake failure lights.

You may want to park the vehicle on a clean surface, pump the brakes a few times, and check for brake fluid leaks. If there is a leaking wheel cylinder (back brakes) , caliper (front brakes), or brake line, you will be able to see it.

Leaks cause pressure loss, and, thus, the brake warning light will illuminate.

SOURCE: brake problem with 95 ford bronco

hello again, Your brakes are probably the most important part of your car. Without an intake system, you'll just sit there. But at least you won't hit a tree while you're just sitting there! Seriously, brakes aren't something to play around with. If your car is having a braking problem, whether it's weak brakes, a mushy pedal, grinding sounds - whatever your brake problem is, you need to troubleshoot and repair it as soon as possible. We'll help you diagnose your braking problem so you know what repairs to make. Brake Pedal Goes Too Far Down to Stop. If you step on the brake pedal and it feels like it's going too far down before you start to slow, you might have the following problems:

  • Low Brake Fluid Level: Check your brake fluid. If it's low, top it off to the mark on the side of the reservoir.
  • Contaminated Brake Fluid: Even though your brakes operate in a closed system, contaminants can still work there way into the works. Air can enter the system through the smallest hole, and you can end up with water in the system from condensation and other means. There's not really any way to check for this, but bleeding your brakes will remove the bad stuff and replace it with new fluid.
  • Worn Brake Pads: Your brakes should never wear low enough to cause your brake pedal to feel low, they'll scream at you before then. But if they do get very low, you might have this problem. Replace your brake pads as soon as possible. Of course, this can be avoided with regular brake inspection.
  • Bad Brake Power Boost Unit Finally, if your brake booster goes bad you'll have low brake pedal issues. Most brake boosters are vacuum controlled, so a special vacuum measurement device that connects to the brake booster is needed to check it. If it's bad, you'll have to replace the boost unit.

SOURCE: abs and brake light staying lit

First you have to plug in a OBD II reader and pull any codes. From there you can start to diagnose the problems.
Do not wait, the abs (anti-lock brake system) is important and may affect your braking.
Please let me know what you find.

Porsche parking brake light and convertible top

you should be able to get to the ebrake switch by the e brake lever. If you can, to get top up you can cross the two wires going to the switch together and get the top up normally with switch. If this turns the parking brake indicator on on the dash, then order yourself a new switch and replace.

Hi my porsche 911 triptronic will not turn over, i have all dash lights, the battery is good when you turn key nothing happens

You need air, fuel, and spark for your engine to run. Did the car do anything strange before not starting? Does it crank and turn over? If so, you should check you are getting fuel. Check the fuel pump relay and fuel pump.

White smoke is comming out of the Exhaust Pipe when i start my 911 Porsche Engine. It stays for abaut 3-4 min. and it is like white Fog

can you smell the smoke, does it smell like anti-freez or oil, if anti-freez there would be steam come out or maybe some water out of the tailpipe, you may have a head gasket problem, or crack somewhere in the head. if the smoke smells like oil ,you may need a valve job.your valve guilds may be let oil seep into the camber when setting.when you start the car up the oil is burnt off.

I have 84 911 and the brake lights sometimes stay stuck on after applying the brakes but not all the time. Any ideas?

be sure that the brake lever is coming up ALL the way. Sometimes even the slightest amount of pressure on the switch will activate the light. Also try a shot of WD-40 on the switch sliding pin.
