My 2001 Ford Expedition XLT has all of a sudden decided not to start. The engine turns but will not start. I got it to start once which game me time to get it home but after that it will no longer start. I was searching for solutions a came across Passive Anti-Theft System. I checked my panel and the theft light is rapidly blinking and after 1 minute it gives a code 16. I only have one key to my truck so i'm wondering if there's a way to bypass this so i can get it to the dealership and not have to pay a towing truck.
Wont stay running. i put starter fluid in the intake but as soon as i stop spraying it stalls out i replaced the fuel filter and it has fuel pressure but wont stay running with out starter fluid. sorry to say no way to bypass with out fords system reader, do you have any other keys of a similar function? these will also interfere with the system. try putting the key in with out anything else with it.

It is a transponder system and I haven't come up with any way to get around it without spare keys. If you have only one key you'll have to make a trip to the dealer.

I need a little more information to give you an answer. There are a number of things that can cause your vehicle to do this. Is it hard to start, how does it idle, how does it act above 40,and how does the exhaust smell, is there any black suite coming out of the exhaust when you get on the gas, what engine is it V8, or V6. The item that can cause this are, fuel pressure relief valve, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor and the oxygen sensor.. If you can answer these for me it will help me give you a better answer. Thanks.
You need a trans overhaul. Sounds like input shaft isn't turning. You have reverse because the front pump provides full pressure to reverse. Forward speeds require the converter to turn the turbine, which the input shaft is supposed to do.
have the ford towed to a transmission shop and get an estimate. decide if you are willing to spend that much to fix it. there is no magic button nor elixir to fix that problem.
The relay for the air ride leveling is by the passenger front bumper area, there is a little blacl plastic cover that comes up to access your relay.It's gonna be sitting pretty close to the radiator.I hope I could help!!
My ford expedition 99 has service engine soon light on. Hooked up to ODB and the equipment showed nothing; no power; checked on different car worked fine. what is cause. Equipment has worked on another ford expedition before by the way.
