Need to find fuse box inside cab to replace brake light fuse. Brakes don't light up when depressed.

My brake lights are not working, I was informed last night by Highway Patrol with flashing lights! I purchased a used 1991 Ford Ranger and there is no manual for it . Where is the fuse box located inside the cab so that I can look at it to see which fuse is the brake light fuse?

Rear brake lights not working cab light works when depressing brakes. bulbs and fuses check out

There is a push button switch that sits behind metal bar that holds your brake pedal. This switch is what turns on the brake light when you push on the brakes. Check to make sure that when the brake pedal is pushed that there is a short across this switch. If there isn't then the switch is bad.

No brake lights check fuses no blown fuses but the center brake light work

If the center high mount brake light comes on when brake pedal is depressed, and the rear brakes don`t come on, and the fuses are not blown, then I would replace the rear bulbs.

Brake lights are out, the cab brake works but not the tail ones. Bulbs are good cause turn signal works, fuses don't appear bad and need to ck brake switch and replace to see if fixes. Please help!!!

THE FUSE FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS MAY BE LABELED " STOP ". GM USES BRAKE FUSE FOR THE " ABS " HOWEVER, THE FUSES NEED TO BE TESTED WITH A FUSE / CIRCUIT TESTER, IN THE FUSES BOX UNDER THE HOOD & THE FUSE BOX INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

Hooked up brake controller box to the wiring harness that came with my 07 dodge 1500. The digital display lights up when you use the manual slide on the brake controller, but not when you hit the brakes. I...

The wiring also needs to be connected to the brake light switch. That's what actuates the brake box. You must just have a faulty connection if that's hooked up already. Check that connection to the brake light switch to the box. Has to be good continuity/connection.

No brakes lights on 2000 Ford F250 after pulling trailer. Checked all fuses and are OK. Rear brake light above cab is working. Checked both bulbs also. Thanks Bill

Depending on where your truck was made you will either find the fuse under the gauge cluster or under the hood in the power distribution box. The fuse for the trailer lights is separate from the fuse for the truck brake-lights.

I replaced all rear bulbs and i still have no lights when i hit the brakes

If they work when the turn signals or the hazards are on then you need to replace the brake light switch on the brake pedal bracket. If the lights don,t work on hazards but do with the turn signals, then you have a fuse blown. If none of the above work then you need to check the wiring under the truck box for a bad plug in connection, corrosion or broken wires.

Were are the fuses for the brakes located on the truck?

The fuse would be in the fuse box. If the brake lights don't work check the bulbs and the brake light switch. The brake light switch is on the brake pedal and would have two wires. Check with a test light one wire should be hot then both wires when pedal is depressed.

Fuse placement

fuse #7 is the brake lamp fuse. It also operates the rear antilock brakes and the buzzers.
