SOURCE: cruise control light will not come on after truck

After the light goes out does it come back on while driving down the road?
If it does this sounds as if you may have a heat sensitive problem at the cruise motor. this has a sensoe that turns the light on when it is engaged. when you turn it off and sits a while does the heat under the hood goes higher expanding the circuts an open circut. You may have to replace the board in the motor.

SOURCE: 1996 Dodge Ram Cruise Control does not work

try checking the fuses first if the fuses are ok it will most likely be the switch itself to fix this requires removing the steering wheel do you have the tools to do this? if so let me know and I will give you the proceedure to do it.

Testimonial: "I have checked all the fuses on the panel by the drivers door. They are all good. I believe I have the tools for pulling the steering wheel. thank you"

Where are fuses for cruise control

If cruise control main light comes on but you cannot set a speed (no set), you could have a bad brake pedal switch.
(If the cruise control light comes on, chances are that it is NOT a fuse issue).
Some vehicles have two switches (one for brake lights and one for cruise control cancel) and others have a multifunctional, single switch.
The function to cancel cruise control is very sensitive so it only takes a small movement of the pedal to cancel cruise control.
You can try lifting on the brake pedal while trying to set the cruise, but this does not alway work. Replace switches are pretty cheap (less than $30) and pretty easy and quick to replace.

I have a 2003 ram 3500 deasel with 6 speed manual cruise will not set please help

The cruise is operated by the Powertrain control module. so if it doesn't work the first thing that must be done is to have the system scanned to see if any fault codes show up, next if no codes show up check the cable to the throttle connection.

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd cruise control quit working. Cruise light still comes on but nothing happens. I can not locate any fuses for cruise control can anyone tell me where the fuse would be?

In the front, there should be a bulbous looking device - this is the vacuum chamber for the cruise. Check to make sure the vacuum hose did not slip off. That was the problem on my van.
